There's an (optimistic) argument to say that there are now four teams fighting for two places. Peterborough and Barnsley, despite their games in hand, could be dragged into it.

Barnsley still have to play Stevenage, Portsmouth and Blackpool away from home.

Peterborough seem to have the easier run in with games against Port Vale, Fleetwood and Cheltenham but they’ll all be scrapping for their lives, so who knows. And the game against us, of course.

Still all to play for, still very much up for grabs, and we’re still in a good position.

Assuming we can get the job done against Peterborough, the upshot of today means the pressure switches from us to Lincoln in the head to head. A draw would be fine now and a win will virtually secure it.

Peterborough and Barnsley only need to get a maximum of 6 points, from their remaining six and five games respectively, to stay in the playoffs, so can't see either of them dropping out.

It's in our hands to make the playoffs... but it's also ini Lincoln's hands to pip us.

It's just about possible to imagine Barnsley ending up on 78 or 79 - they've not been in the greatest form, and they've got a tough set of remaining fixtures.

Hard to imagine Posh not getting to 80 (which would be enough - us and Lincoln can't both get to that). So I think I'd prefer it if they win today, and then win handily on Wednesday. Then they might come to our place tired but comfortable, and content to mail it in knowing they're basically locked into the playoffs!

Just looking at who is likely to be joining league one next season along with Rotherham. Two out of Sheffield Wednesday , Birmingham City, Huddersfield , Plymouth and Millwalll. Separated by just two points between 42 and 44. QPR and Stoke I think safe on 46.

From league 2, I think Stockport and Wrexham for two of the auto spots. And MK or Mansfield for the other. Then playoffs as is , Barrow, Crewe and Crawley. Maybe AFC Wimbledon or Walsall might sneak in.

Just checking you aren't including today's game for Peterborough getting to 80 points are you? It may be my reading rather than what you mean.

Barnsley have only scored 4 points in their last 6 games so not in great form.

We need 7 points from our 3 home games and probably a draw in Devon. All these months hard work and toil come down to a massive week of games .270 plus minutes it will be an amazing to go To Devon knowing it's in our hands let's be so loud and hopefully so proud, COYY let's make those play offs .From where we were last year we should not be disappointed whatever happens, buckle in what we all hope is some ride. We owe Peterborough big time we need to have improved big time to beat them ,if we can then we will be in a good place . 👍

Nah - I was just suggesting that if they came to us with 77 points already on the board, and therefore only 1 win from 5 needed to clinch a playoff spot......and after having won two games, including a Cup Final, already that week......and three more eminently winnable games against Fleetwood, Rovers and Cheltenham to follow our game - they're probably not going to be desperate on Saturday, and there's just a chance we catch them taking a breather. The game against us will be their free hit.

If they get turned over by Vale on Wednesday, Ferguson will read them the riot act and have them wound up to eleven to face us......

For me it comes down to if we beat Peterborough. If we do, the rest of our games are winnable and I can see us getting a result against Lincoln.

If we don't win, I can see Lincoln beating Wigan and the pressure being all too much and us crumbling.

I hope that Peterborough act in the same classless way that Wycombe did when they beat us at Wembley, and rub their noses in it.
That's called winning and you celebrate when you win .You don't get anything for finishing 2nd at Wembley.
Hopefully we have something to celebrate soon we are long overdue a promotion .

Not sure it’s a great time to play Posh - they basically need to win every game to go up but coming off a Wembley win and probably three points against Vale, they’ll fancy themselves.

If I was offered 5 points from these 3 games now, I’d be tempted. Would fancy us to win at Exeter and get to 78 points.
