This is my local game, so I have to go!
Hope for a result without any expectation.

Happy New Year everyone!!

Do we have eleven fit players?

And does that include any forwards?

Or are we going to have to play an innovative 4-5-1 formation with a five-man central midfield of Cam, the two Macs, ARG and Smyth?

REF WATCH

MLS referee Alex Chilowicz is the man in the middle for today’s clash with Charlton at The Valley.
36 year old Chilowicz , from New Jersey, relocated to the UK to primarily continue his music career as a composer, arranger and saxophonist in London.

He started refereeing in the MLS in 2017 and his first senior game in the EFL was MK Dons 1-0 win over Colchester United on Boxing Day.

Impossible to predict this one, it will boil down to who is worse out of two poor teams, any point will be gratefully recieved

Weirdly I’m feeling quietly confident.

Despite the disappointing result against Derby, anyone who attended could see the spirit and effort was there, injuries and old legs have caught up with us.

With the physio’s room overflowing, it will be interesting to see what Des can conjure up from the walking wounded. Three at the back looks the most likely with Stevens and Bennet as the wingbacks. McGuane and Rodrigues both look like they need a rest and/or are playing with knocks. I can’t see them both being rested but perhaps McEachran will start instead of McGuane.

With Murphy and Mills looking doubtful, we look very one paced, that’s my main concern.

However, unexpected performances and victories can often come from no where. There appears to be far more unrest within the Charlton fanbase than Oxford’s. If we can frustrate and turn the home fans against their team we have a chance.

1-2. Brannigan, Rodrigues.

Happy New Year everyone! Hanging! 🤮

Need to start the year with a win. Maybe something like one of these options could work?

After impressing at RB, albeit against lower league opposition, I'd like to see Smyth given another chance ahead of Stevens, who hasn't done anywhere near enough in Long's absence to keep hold of his place, but that ain't gonna happen, don't think Des would have the balls for such a big and potentially risky move, so there's no point putting him in either of the above lineups. Although Smyth did look very good in the role, and who knows, he could be a revelation if given another chance...

If Bodins fit and available, we've no other option than to start him, either out wide, with Harris on the right, to provide width if we're still gonna try to play with wingers, or play him alongside Harris in a front two, with a diamond in midfield.

Whatever the lineup is, we simply have to go for the throat early, and not let up, until we're out of sight.

COME ON YOU YELLOWS!!
