Edna or Betty?The tea lady.
Edna or Betty?The tea lady.
You’re Ted Rogers and I claim my £5'He'd be a nice signing who would be good at dealing with bad fruit sellers'.
The answer was Macauley Bonne who we were certainly interested in and which the OM picked up on yesterday.
Macauley is quite an unusual name and albeit it's a slightly different spelling Macaulay Culkin is well-known and in particular for Home Alone. The two villains in Home Alone are these guys:

Their characters are called Harold Lime and Marvin Merchants. https://villains.fandom.com/wiki/Harry_and_Marv
These are your bad (guys) fruit sellers (Lime Merchants).
In the film Macaulay Calkin wins the day and is 'good' at dealing with them.
In addition, 'Bonne' in french means 'Good'.
I can't believe that no-one worked it out
@Jaboysmith - hope that was worth the wait.
I went for King as the Author of a book called Bad Fruit was Ellen KingSo my (very) cryptic clue was:
'He'd be a nice signing who would be good at dealing with bad fruit sellers'.

I think that's a good idea maybe we should judge him after he gets sacked or at the end of the season and sorry Karl don't mean to be ungrateful it's just you fudged up the transfer window and signed us a bunch of crocks

Then if such money is available, the real question is why has this window been so poor?
Even more bizarre when we have so many injuries he still can’t even get on the bench.I thought Smythe would be a player for us but for some reason Robinson seems to want him out.
Blimey Wallop, fair play to you for coming up with that. Too cryptic for me tho!So my (very) cryptic clue was:

probably won’t sign up to Karl’s agencyEven more bizarre when we have so many injuries he still can’t even get on the bench.
So what's he been doing here then !!!Thanks @Trevor L and any such forum should be with the real owners not Tiger who doesn't have any decision-making authority (or so I believe).
Sorry for not being happy we signed 2 crap injury prone players in jones and Murphy. Might have send a card to Karl
So what's he been doing here then !!!
So they are looking over things thats good to hear thatTo find out and report back as to why academy staff are quitting and why so many of the new expensive signings are in the treatment room?
Totally agree, problem is, alot of oxford fans on here are abit deluded and think we are a big club. In div 1 we are a small fish in a big pond. Agree, we are not a big club, never have never been a big club and never will be.Surely though, if we go for a player like Ryan Hardie for example, in my opinion we have no chance of getting him. Why would he come here, why leave a club like Plymouth even if we offer more in wages, he would wait for a championship move. The point I am making is these sort of players will never come so we are wasting our time. We might be better investing in the better players in League 2. All this think big is a load of B*****s, you’re either a big club or your not, and we are not and never have been.

To be clear, I don’t know for sure that’s the reason why Tiger turned up towards the end of the transfer window, but a guess on my part. It would explain why only one further deal got over the line and the money spring suddenly appeared to run dry.
I think that’s a fair challenge, are we going for players we realistically can get?Surely though, if we go for a player like Ryan Hardie for example, in my opinion we have no chance of getting him.
