Maybe this is why KR said he’s not after any more strikers as that spot is now going to a winger?
You mean after he totally ruined our two new, very talented wingers, by playing them when they weren’t fit?

Not his fault though, no sir, it’ll be everyone else’s fault but his.

And it’ll be bad luck as well, don’t forget, not brain dead naivety, bad luck apparently

Murphy barely kicked a ball last season for reasons which are unknown to me, but all is clearly not well for him to be with us. He is a risky signing. Yanic hasn’t played at this level for several seasons, he is also a risk.

Baldock and Jones have had several seasons where serial injuries have robbed them of playing time. Risky? Yes, at least to me. Worth it? Time will tell.

That’s four of this season’s recruits, each carrying a level of risk that is higher than normal. Keep doing it, as we tend to do, and it is going to burn eventually.

Murphy was off field issues (KR said these were sorted iirc and KR has worked with him before and they got on) and not fancied for the team by his manager a bit like Gavin Whyte.

Wildschut was playing in the Bulgarian Top Flight and in European competition (Conference League) making 45 appearances at an average of just under an hour per game (2,628 minutes in total) so hardly a massive risk as has been suggested.. It is no more a risk than signing Joseph or Findlay (as he hasn't played this level at all).

He maybe didn’t have full pre season training though? However I’d expect the club to know more than a bunch of internet warriors

You’re missing my point. Every signing carries an element of risk. Some higher than others.

Keep piling on the risks and eventually it’s not luck that will do for you, it’s the odds.

He wasn't match fit so came on as a 2nd half sub in a pre-season friendly. How else do you get match fit, other than being involved in matches? Is KR also at fault for the Wimbledon player pushing him when he is at full stretch?
He should’ve been given some time in training first

Obviously but then no player had then either as pre-season hadn't finished. :)

Still he came on as a sub in the 2nd half in a pre-season game when he got injured. Unfortunate but still no more of a risk than any other player.

I think signing players who haven’t been playing regularly can be a risk, but Murphy was an 11m player and if he’d been playing we couldn’t have afforded him. There are certainly some here who just love it when anything goes wrong
No one is loving it! I for one am not I can assure you. Oxford Utd mean the world to me and I so badly want us to do well. It doesn’t mean we can’t vent frustration, offer our views and ask posing questions when there is clearly an issue with what’s been occurring regularly in terms of muscular injuries!

I’d argue that those who are venting their frustration are in fact doing so because of their care and desire to see the club succeed, and the frustration of seeing expensive new recruits dropping like flies before the season has barely begun and denying supporters the chance to see the new team in all its potential glory, is actually what’s making people post such comments.

There are times when you can’t simply dress things up and brush situations away just to stay positive. Have some guts and gumption and stop criticing passionate supporters who are upset at the fact things are not going right. You can’t be positive about injuries like we seem to constantly get time and time again!

Exactly

But they weren't higher risk for injury which is what is being levelled at KR.
