Jeremain Lens - Formally of Sunderland, 34 now so would probably play at L1 level, currently without a club after leaving Besiktas where former OUFC player Dean Whitehead is currently first team coach. Didn't play a game last season. Unlikely but not impossible. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jeremain-lens/leistungsdaten/spieler/38497

Cor, our old Deano an assistant coach in Turkey. I see Adam Murray is also along side him, both working under manager Valérien Ismaël.

I think it's Van La Parra still - but that UTO hadn't realised that he'd already been mentioned when he said that the new player hadn't - and that he's subsequently realised that Van La Parra was mentioned (hence why he subsequently says 'he has been mentioned' rather than 'he has now been mentioned' as if it were a recent addition).

Ticks all the other boxes:
Winger ✅
Dutch ✅
Over 30 ✅
Playing in Europe but not The Netherlands ✅
Played in England for a significant time ✅

He would get 0 points. Even with an exceptions panel (only considered if between 10-14 points, I think) it would cost the club £6,000 with no real criteria as what would create a successful appeal.

Won’t be Summerville - he’s on Leeds’ pre season tour in Australia and considered part of the first team (especially since Raphinha was sold). Bate, on the other hand, remained in the UK. As did McCalmont, Jenkins, Bogusz and Ian Poveda
Update: looks like it’s Bate, called out on the Yorkshire Evening Post now also. Definitely a talent, but there won’t be an option to make it permanent as he’s highly rated there.

You could be right if he's recently changed his nationality, age, position and country he plays in.... But you never know 😜

Guessing duration of previous stay in the country has no relevance?

Very unlike Blackpool to P**s about with a transfer!
Colby Bishop would be a fantastic signing, but I think he would want to be the main man up top. Can't see him happy sat on the bench. Matty T seems to thrive as being the man who is trusted by us. It would be a great problem for KR to have.

We have a lot of senior pros who have been around the block and are (hopefully) ultimate pros. That could be a great pitch to clubs like Palace to persuade them we are the right club to take Rak-Sakyi. Learning off ultimate pros like James Henry can be no bad thing.

I also think we lack pace. A lightning quick player even if he has a lot to learn and not much end product would be a great option to have for the last ten to fifteen minutes. Could well be plenty that fit the bill at PL sides. Rak-Sakyi would be great for sure, an attacking young wing back could also be interesting.

Needs to play in a front 2 so would be perfect alongside Taylor

Haha - I know it’s hard to imagine right now, but we could be signing players in more than one position!

Whoa, whoa, slow down now! I'm not sure that the forum will cope with more than one signing per month!!!

Would KR play a front two though? He usually prefers to play wingers just off the striker.
Wouldn't be at all surprised to see us play something like a 4-3-1-2 this season, especially if we get the 2 fullbacks in...noticed it Saturday that our wingers (Browne + Bodin) were very narrow. Could look something like this....

GK

RB
Moore
Findlay
LB

Mcguane
Brannagan
CM

Browne

ST
Taylor

Quite an exciting thought, the two full backs bombing on creating the width and space for our central players to dictate play...Mcguane and Brannagan would thrive in a system like that. Just need someone in who could dictate the tempo and drop in (Bate?)

The fullback signings will reveal a lot - KR said we wouldn’t look at 3-5-2 without McNally’s pace, but he did describe Findlay as pacey (although he doesn’t look it), so that could be back on the cards now. Makes sense with Brown dropping in at LCB as well.

What you mention is Bates’ game, so I could definitely see that working too.
