Why the hell do we have to troll through countless bickering about the manager, existing players good or bad. There are to many keyboard managers who know better than KR when in fact they know f**k all, so just stick to the topic please

I'm suggesting you struggle to know when people are being deliberately facetious out of desperation due to a lack of signings and just one month until our first game of the season.
You can be quite dry to be fair. And some people do post the most awful rubbish so it's hard to keep up.

Why does discussing who takes the roll of Mcnally rile you this much :ROFLMAO: its a football forum mate lighten up

Now that we (might) have changed from a 3 to a 4 (at the back). Does anyone else think an additional RB should also be a priority?. What happens if Long is not available in that position?. I keep seeing Forde mentioned but why would KR suddenly do a U-Turn on him for this role, when he was overlooked for the same position for most of last season?.

I know we haven't finished our recruitment, but based on the noises from various places, I'm getting the impression this is not an area of priority?. For the record, i like Forde and I'm glad he's in the squad, but the RB issue seems an obvious one to me.

If anyone genuinely believes, or is worried about Mous starting for us in the first league game, you need to stop drinking before 11:30am..

I’m on holiday in Portugal right now, and this is driving me to drink - so thank you. Although, my Mrs isn’t best pleased. She keeps asking me “who’s Leysboy, and why do you keep mumbling his name while you’re necking sangria?”

The club has just sold McNally for 2mil. KR has quite literally, as plain as the day is long, came out and said that he’s looking at bringing in at least 2 defenders..

The whole Mous thing is a total and utter non-story.

Have we started it yet? I was hoping the midfield & defensive issues would have been first on the agenda before friendlies start. Hoping the aggressive approach in the market starts soon.

Who are these 4 centre backs we are signing?
Why would we need to sign 4 centre backs for Mous to be 6th choice? The pecking order is quite clear if you think about it:

Starting CBs - Elliott Moore and a new signing (looking like Stuart Findlay)
3rd choice - Ciaron Brown
4th choice - Sam Long
5th choice - James Golding
6th choice - Mous

And that's assuming we don't sign 2 CBs, or another fullback who can play CB.

Why is he on the playing wage then?

Yeah I'm not having a go at him, and I'm delighted we signed him, but I think we are all aware that we are bringing in a McNally replacement who will likley be above CB in the pecking order, and he is unlikley to be our first choice left back?
Totally agree, however its interesting that Seddon was part of the team that got us comfortably in the payoffs around Christmas but then had a wobble and now every one wants to bin him ! this is the same with Long, the season before last he was a Hero and then last season after Covid and a fair bit of position changing, he also looses a little bit of form and he is no longer good enough ! It's also a bit of a surprise that Henry hasn't had a mention !
The point I'm making is that as you stated we are probably only looking for 3 or 4 first team players and then back up. we have already secured or extended that many and clearly have a few that are fairly close to signing and we are also looking at loan deals. if you add Brown, Seddon and Bodin or Henry to that team you pretty much have a team that's got you 8th to 4th over the last three years. So there is good reason to be optimistic about this window.
Also. ITS STILL JUNE

Thin line between staying strictly on topic and actually not having much to talk about. As of now there isn’t much action on the incoming front - not that that is any reason to discuss it like stroppy teenagers.

But short of sitting in silence you can’t blame people for finding something else to talk about while we wait and this is the ‘go-to’ thread. Nobody wants to see it turn personal but it’s up to us as individuals how we react to one another. I’d rather that than a dormant forum.

Haha - my mood will improve after our smashing transfer business over the next month.

Oddly, after feeling apathetic toward football in general I'm really excited to get to more games next season. And I don't really know why.

This has been done to death; but I’ll say it one last time: Mous has to be a registered player, in order for him to fulfil his role at the PFA. Can’t really be in a role at the Professional Footballers Association, if you’re not actually a player…

If he plays in a few pizza cup games, then so be it. He will NOT be viewed as an option for any league games. I can’t believe people are worrying about this, despite this very topic, being discussed at length, for the last 18 months.

Mous is a credit to our club. If and when he decides to move into management, I hope it is with us. He’s very well thought of within the game, and he’s been a more than loyal servant to to OUFC, both on the pitch and off of it. Put some respect on his name!

It's good fun! That's what makes me cross about some posters here, they don't seem to get any enjoyment out of it. I'm looking forward to seeing the players close up at City.

We can still put out a relatively strong line up now if we wanted. Another couple of signings and the first 11 looks quite good. I think we need a starting Left sided CB and LB as a priority. As long as we get those in the next couple of weeks, then I would be confident of making a good start to the season. It's later in the season that we will require depth. This is probably the best team we can field at the moment...

Stevens

Long
Moore
Brown
Seddon

Gorrin
McGuane
Brannagan

Bodin
Taylor
Browne

Subs - Baldock, Henry, Smyth, Forde, Eastwood and Mousinho.

Your lady is out in Portugal with you, and wondering who I am. Blimey she must of had an amazing honeymoon.

Plus this is my first post today. So I’m struggling to see why you’d be mumbling my username.

Think the preferred option will be two up front, Taylor and Baldock, like last season before Baldock got injured.

If it is to be your formation then Baldock is an upgrade on Taylor and should start in my opinion.

Whilst the window is open here, certain windows overseas aren't open yet and loanees tend not to be released until early August so I think we'll have to be patient I'm afraid.
