Criticising based on what though? f**k all. Just a load of hot air on the forum, from a bunch of hive-minded individuals that seek validation from their own negative rubbish.

What are you criticising? We’re over a week into the transfer window, and somehow, because a signing hasn’t been announced yet, that’s reason to criticise the club and their recruitment.

How are we getting it wrong with transfers, when you have absolutely no idea what’s going on?

You are being smooth-brained. Say what you like, but this kind of reaction/attitude towards something is weird; especially when you have no clue, nor control, over what happens…
The pre-season training camp starts tomorrow and we've signed no new players that we didn't have at the club last year. Isn't that at least a little bit concerning for you?

The window being open for a week is irrelevant, deals can be agreed well in advance of the window opening, the window is only about ratification. We've basically had since missing out on the play-offs to put our full focus into retention and recruitment for players. We've done a good job in keeping Bodin and Baldock, and Moore signing a new multi-year deal was an unexpected surprise. But in terms of bringing in new players, we haven't been able to bring in the right players quickly enough to allow them to have a full pre-season with their new club.

I could stoop to your level and just start flinging insults towards someone I don't know and will probably never meet, but you calling me smooth-brained says a lot more about you than it does about me.

Charlie Austin signing for Brisbane Roar, I know there were rumours we were interested.

I’m concerned about the cost of living crisis, the Tory government stripping away our human-rights, and everything else that is going on right now…

Am I concerned about professionals doing their job, which is to better this football club? Absolutely not, and why would I be? Time will tell, but it’s not like we are in a bad place to begin with. I think a bit of perspective is needed..

It’s the same few, chatting the same poo. It’s boring to read, and even more boring to engage with.

And yet you engage with frequency. In terms of perspective, if it doesn't really matter at the end of the day like you're perceiving it to be, why are you so quick to fling around insults? I'm sure you're better than that.

We're all concerned about a lot of things going on in the world right now, but supporting this club is a form of escapism, and we all want the club to be as successful as possible, even if that means disagreeing with each other on how we get there. I want to see an improvement from the club to bring in players earlier so we can have a team as prepared as possible for the start of the season, and you don't think it's a primary concern. And that's fine. But what's not ok is to go around slinging mud just because there are those on this forum that have a different opinion than you do.

Can I just check who we've missed out on with our lack of activity so far, aside from the Gillingham CB and the Morecambe LB? Oh, and the winger we had last year that quite a few were worried we might actually go back in for.

You mean, list all the players we haven't signed?

I must admit I think it's suboptimal not to have made signings for the start of preseason. We can of course sign players later but if they are unattached free agents they will presumably be unfit. Why do we make such heavy weather of this, when we know we're capable of some real finds?

What a strange comment for a football forum.

🎶
If you like piña coladas
And gettin' caught at left back
If you're not into defence
If you like all out attack
If you like signin' lots of wingers
And 6 gooooals a game
Then come join Oxford United
4 weeks after Spain
🎶

Oh go on then!

🎶
Yes I like piña coladas
And getting caught in defence
You may blame it on left backs
But we've no cover on the bench
I like that we’re creative
We’ll score goals just for kicks
I can be your new winger
I'm 'no fight, all neat tricks'
🎶

I'll get my coat...

I mean all the players that you would have wanted us to sign, that we haven't signed. I haven't yet seen many real coups in this division yet. Ipswich and Sheff Weds have done the only real good, early business.

If we wanted to complete a transfer for the sake of it, we could have brought in someone from the National League or blown a lot of wages for a Championship OOC. But we're probably being just as patient as Bournemouth, Brentford, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Leicester, Man U and Nottm Forest are in the Premier League, and just waiting for really good players to become available.

I really don't hold much truck with the pre-season 'gelling'. It might have an impact, but I think that would be minimal. The core of our squad has been together for years, which probably gives us more of a benefit in this regard than many others.

I, on the other hand, DO think it is important that any new players are with their new team mates for as long as possible before the season starts especially for those who will be first team starters. I think that players can start to anticipate what their team mates will do, learn the patterns of play, understand other people's strengths and weaknesses. It is, after all, a team game and I think a team is (or at least should be) the way the players combine and certainly should be greater than the sum of its individual parts.

Don't get me started about signing players a month into the season...

Stop being so sensible. I WANT SOME SIGNINGS. And they don't all have to be superstars, we've got a lot of squad places to fill.

Come off it mate you are getting stuck into people left right and centre and making personal insults on here just for having a different view to you about the footy which they’re entitled to. To me that’s more boring to read and goes against what a forum is all about.

The concerning thing is that genuine ITK confirm we wanted these players, and didn't manage to land them. Cadden further away than ever for example.

If you are serious about being a "top 30" club you go and make it happen in the way we used to in the Eales/Ashton days.

Sometimes we will be beaten by other clubs due to finances or the players personal desire to play in the championship for example. no matter how hard we try. I’m comfortable with that as it shows we’re going for players that clubs we want to be competing with are as well.

Maybe the ITKers of old are no longer ITKers and everything is being kept under wraps for fear of someone nicking all our marquees

Sorry, but there appears to be an error with this comment. You are concerned about multiple things, yet seem to be telling everyone else they can't be concerned with multiple things, such as OUFC transfers AND the cost of living crisis.
