National News Covidiots.....

Should people in work get the sack with no right to appeal?

Employers do have the right to instantly dismiss if the circumstances call for it.

One example being if the employer is fearful of a threat to either themselves, their staff members or their property.

I reckon students acting in this way falls into this bracket.

Yes, but the employee can still appeal, surely?

Did they invite 30+ people to their house? Yes.
Did the police turn up? Yes.
The police would have firstly said "Go home now because....." (Engage, Educate, Enforce and all that rollox ).
Did said residents probably get a bit gobby after a few beers? Probably.
Hence the OB issued the fines.
Will they be able to pay it? Probably not.
Should they lose their "Uni Place" absolutely.

Complete lack of responsibility to the society that gives them so much. Entitled twunks.

As much as it pains me to agree.. yes, I accept that everyone is entitled to an appeal.

But when someone is caught with their pants down the process does frustrate me. If you are caught bang to rights you should lose the right to appeal IMO.

Far too much time, effort and money wasted on repeat offenders and numbnuts like this.

Which is fair enough, but a necessary evil. For every employee acting like a complete dick there is also an employer doing likewise, so the right to appeal is important. There will always be the extremes unfortunately.

Excellent point.

As well as being gobby, they lied about 30 people being in the house who were only found after the police went in to take a look. Just add it to their £50k debt.

Why did they only fine 4 of them instead of all 30?

Recurring theme click..... and scroll down a bit....
"More students have been fined for having parties which broke coronavirus restrictions."
So who's at fault? The students for not following the rules or the government for not anticipating that students would party if they allowed them to return to university? If the partying wasn't inevitable it's the students, if it was it's the government. So was it inevitable?

Daft question... students, they know the rules and have broken them.

Yeah, have to agree with this.

It's a case of personal responsibility.

Were I still young I might well be doing the same thing but that's a different matter!
