Potential New Ground

Except that 'we' have built it and except for rare occasions, they don't!
Until and unless we go up a division, I really can't see the sense in building a 20,000 seater stadium when 7,000 of us rattle about inside a 12,500 seater 90% of the time. Although you'd always want a stadium with 4 sides (!!!), surely it's not beyond the skills of architects to build a stadium that is easily , quickly and (relatively) cheaply upgradable to a larger capacity when it becomes needed. Or you end up with the 'stadium:mk' footballing experience.

We built a half finished stadium at a time when the football we were playing was a combination of poor and unsuccessful. None of that helps attract the punters.

I would hope that a new stadium would be part of a longer term goal of delivering quality, successful football for the club. (Easier said than done, I know!). So we need to look at a stadium that matches our ambitions rather than something we need to add to every season at greater cost and disruption.

Maybe we can relocate Bolton’s ground piece by piece as they might be starting again and sharing with their peers at Salford.
Seriously I wonder if we could use the new super carbon known as graphemes. No rust and stronger than steel

I still like between Culham and Clifton Hampden just to annoy the NIMBYs in that area.

My own tip based on OCC's own report: Old Marston.
Bordered on one side by the A40 Northern by pass and the River Cherwell and the B4495 with existing estate of Marston finishing off the box. Something like 50 hectares which would provide more than enough space to build houses, shops and a stadium.

I'd love to say, but too much work has been put in to jeopardise things by being loose lipped now. All I can say is that real progress has been, and is being, made. Sorry, but I really can't say any more than that at the moment.
I appreciate that someone like Colin has more credibility than I do, but I hope this post will alleviate the concerns that some have about the direction the club is going in. Although the transfer window may have been slower than many wanted, but it was clear that we have worked within a very competitive budget. The money from Gavin Whyte wasn't needed but will support the further development plans with the club. I genuinely believe we are at the beginning of a really exciting new chapter for our club, and the stadium could be the icing on the cake!

Interesting - my source is an ITK one so surprised at your reaction but also encouraged by it given its positivity. We'll see what transpires.

At least that would be in Oxford. Would be great to be within the ring road

Does anyone think there’s a chance that it could still be Grenoble Road including the surrounding leisure and commercial units? I’m not sure how much the entire site is worth but none of us are getting any younger, maybe FK will be happy with a nice little retirement nest egg? Then a phased redevelop the stadium, one stand at a time, starting with the North stand as the new home stand, including a supporters club and shop. I know people say there’s no money to be made with this scenario, but it will allow the club to push on with its ambitions to climb the leagues. The owners could then see a nice return that way? Plus there’s room to re-jig the leisure units to get more businesses in - there seems to me to be a lot of wasted space the current set-up by the cinema. A proper retail park would create income.

Even more ironic if he was part of a consortium to take over, if he his venture fails in Sunderland

got a feeling Tigers going to be here for the foreseeable.
as long as there's not a repeat of last seasons debacle with late payments I'll be ok with that.
communication appears to have improved and he's certainly invested in the club but still need to be mindful especially after the Bury and Bolton situation.
how do others view him now?
