Except that 'we' have built it and except for rare occasions, they don't!
Until and unless we go up a division, I really can't see the sense in building a 20,000 seater stadium when 7,000 of us rattle about inside a 12,500 seater 90% of the time. Although you'd always want a stadium with 4 sides (!!!), surely it's not beyond the skills of architects to build a stadium that is easily , quickly and (relatively) cheaply upgradable to a larger capacity when it becomes needed. Or you end up with the 'stadium:mk' footballing experience.
We built a half finished stadium at a time when the football we were playing was a combination of poor and unsuccessful. None of that helps attract the punters.
I would hope that a new stadium would be part of a longer term goal of delivering quality, successful football for the club. (Easier said than done, I know!). So we need to look at a stadium that matches our ambitions rather than something we need to add to every season at greater cost and disruption.
