Christ on a bike! It quite clearly rhymes with 'hooray'
can't be bothered to go back over last few pages and see if someone else has made the joke... could've been spermanent.Big question now is whether Cumming is loan or perm. Some Chelsea sources said one, some the other.
Your phrase that "at least we're not padding out the bench with academy players" prompts me to ask what are the prospects of any of our current academy players becoming members of the first team squad. Now I accept that many, probably the majority,of the current cohort will not achieve a career as a professional player in the EFL and will fall by the wayside. But there must be some who will, otherwise the undoubtedly expensive exercise of running an Academy has no purpose. I would like to be told who the club expect will make the grade and in what time scale we can expect to see them in the first team squad. It’s a good start. We’re certainly not in any way ‘stronger than we were at the start of January’ as was the aim (yet). Burey replaces Edwards, Cumming replaces Beadle. We’re still Mills’ injury down, Perkins loan return away from parity. And we were already unanimous that we didn’t even finish recruiting a striker properly in the summer. (Arguably Gorrin as well, albeit I’m not sure he was ever really that much of a threat to the first team)
But as per Des’ ifollow interview, at least we’re not padding out the bench with academy players and have options in some positions now. Along with Leigh hopefully ready to be eased back in, Long and Negru close behind (and hopefully Murphy resuming his role as an effective cameo player in the later stages of games against tiring defences rather than starting and immediately breaking down again). It’s looking better
2 strikers and a winger (or one proper proven forward and a couple of ‘plays across the front line) would be ideal for me. Dreamland a physical midfielder as proper, robust alternative to the more technical ability of Brannagan, McEachran and McGuane too. Think getting all that done is a bridge too far for January when we’re already paying such high wages for an assortment of players who barely feature.
Better than when we brought Roofe in on loan (may have even been later than Jan), and bought MacDonald?Certainly the best one this season
Think its like 'Fury', based on some of the highlight reels that have commentary on them... once we've added ours with Nick Harris' commentary, it could be anything. How are we pronouncing Burey? Does it rhyme with ‘fury’ or ‘hurry’?
The question is not about his height but whether he has a stronger build than Beadle. Beadle got bullied on corners and free kicks so hopefully Cummings will be more able to muscle his way through the crowd of players.Beadle is 6,5 I think and Cummings 6,2
Hmm, I remember this coming up when Beadle signed. Firstly, goalkeepers are the most protected position in the sport by officials, you can’t so much as breathe on them so if they’re smart, they have a major advantage. Secondly, if he’s having to clatter through bodies to come and collect the ball, it’s probably not his physicality we should be worried about, it’s whether they’ve made the right choice to come out.The question is not about his height but whether he has a stronger build than Beadle. I think you may have misread my post.Better than when we brought Roofe in on loan (may have even been later than Jan), and bought MacDonald?
Byure eeHadn’t even considered that one!
We need clarity on this from Tim ASAP.
Is this the best January transfer window we've ever had?
Jerome said on The Dub a few months back that we have an option on Maguane’s contract to trigger a one year extension. No idea if that’s true, but he must have been pretty confident to share that. If we do that becomes less of a priority to sort now I guess.Would love it to be McGuane but I presume that ship has sailed?

I'd have Sam Smith, although I'm sure plenty wouldn't. Obviously a w****r but a very good player who would improve us and Nick Harris would probably be ok with his name.Fancy a Reading Raid anyone?

Otherwise Femi Azeez has 4 goals and 6 assists playing for a crap team and is only 22, he'd be worth an ask. Absolutely ripped Brown to shreds in the first half when we played them and has scored a few since then, looks a really good player at a good age.
Weird one as reading fans couldn’t see him off soon enough a couple months backAgree with Femi Azeez. Looks a great player.
