January transfer window*...

OUT:
Perkins (return to Leeds) - Doesn't play
Edwards (return to Ipswich) - Always injured, no point having him!
O'Donkor (loan) - Needs to develop
McEachran (permanent) - Too slow in my opinion, doesn't move the ball quick enough
Henry (permanent) - Love him but past it. Still think he'd be a good L2 player though. May as well try and get a bit of cash for him while we still can.

IN:
Ladapo, ST (permanent, depending on cost) - Proven L1 goalscorer
Corey Blackett-Taylor, Winger (permanent) - Good dribbler with lots of pace and decent output.
Davis Keillor-Dunn, CAM (permanent) - 14 goals and 5 assists already this season from attacking midfield. Been one of the few attacking midfielders with consistently good output in L1 & L2 over the past 3+ years (51 goals and assists in 108 games across the last 3 seasons).
Jewison Bennette, Winger/ST (loan) - Highly rated and can play anywhere across the front line. Strong with pace.
Josh Onomah, CM (free) - Plenty of experience at higher levels. Good midfielder for L1.
Aaron Collins, Winger/CF/CAM (permanent) - Another who can play anywhere across the front line. Brilliant season last season and most assists in the league so far this season.
Devan Tanton, RB (loan) - Should Stevens be recalled, Tanton could be an interesting option to replace him. Pacey, attacking minded, and already made his debut for Colombia national team a few weeks ago.

*Understand the cost of some of these may not be feasible and many of these are 'either/or' options, but a man can dream...

You think someone will pay us a fee for James Henry?

We will have Henry till the end of the season, people always do these move on posts but we pay someone like Henry well, he isn't going to walk out on his contract and given how little he has played over the last year no one will want to waste any of their budget on him so we are stuck with him.

I would also like us to sell Josh Murphy and Marcus Browne. If we sell them as a package then we should be able to get at least £500k for them.

Then I would reinvest that money in 4 new players, who I would sell on in 2 years time for at least £5m each.

It's really easy and I don't understand how the club make it look difficult.

Scarlett can't play for another club this season - made an EFL Cup appearance for Spurs in August.

Your keeping Gorrin?

He’s got to go, he’s never going to be the same player he once was.

I'm not totally convinced you're a duke, TBH.

I kind of hope we don't sign another 'number 10', we've got plenty of those.
Touché. 🤣

I'm just grateful you're still in a little bit of doubt and not simply written off out of hand.

I'll start a forum member's title amnisty;

I'm not a real Duke.

There, I feel better for that.

Not sure what he’s done to the fans but Ladapo seems pretty unpopular at Ipswich.
Rumours of a dodgy attitude/bad egg in the dressing room. Just the other day he was telling one of his teammates to f off as he got subbed.

I don't get the need to lose players from an already tiny squad. Gorrin is on peanuts but could come on for 10/15 minutes in a crucial game that sees us holding on to a point or 3. He is not a starter and isn't going to play a dozen games, but that's why clubs have squads.

It's the same with Henry. A couple of decent showings for 20 minutes is where he's at. A classy player who can link things together if others are doing the running for him. 45 minutes playing as the one up top against Derby was never going to be his game. He would have struggled in that role 4 of 5 years ago let alone a couple of weeks after returning from injury.

With the exception to O'Donkor going out on loam to hopefully come back better, I can see no value in looking to dump the players we have.

Wow I’m surprised you say that, I think McEachran is far more useful, than Gorrin.

I loved Alex Gorrin, when he was at his best, even when you knew each game he would pick up a yellow card. He was a great enforcer, but them days are long gone now.
I think in terms of what Gorrin can still offer, it's more than that of McEachran.

Neither are brilliant on the ball, but Gorrin still can offer that 'enforcer' type role, breaking up play and being a bridge between defence and attack - I don't think McEachran can do that.

Gorrin offers three things:
  1. Plenty of free-kicks in dangerous positions to the opposition.
  2. Gamblers who like to forecast yellow cards a sure thing.
  3. A very nice chap to have around the place.
I don’t think 3 justifies the other two.

Brutal game with no place for passengers.

I still think it might be worth keeping Gorrin until the end of the season, given our never-ending injury issues.
