Over 20 years since weve played this shower with their mockney fans , back to winning ways , DB 1st league win and in style, 1-3

Team selection feels a no brainer for me, the only question mark is over who plays striker. Harris has been poor of late, but I really don't seen Gats or Perkins being an improvement on him. Honestly, if he's staying beyond January (which I suspect he isn't), wouldn't be against giving Perkins the nod and giving him the chance to be a hero in a derby to get that confidence going.

Beadle
Stevens Moore Brown Bennett
McGuane Brannagan
Goodrham Rodrigues Murphy
Harris/Perkins/O'Donkor

Nervy 2-1 win, Murphy and Goodrham with the goals.

They has 12,500 v Barnsley on Saturday, so half full.
Oxford will take more than Barnsley, but fewer Reading fans as midweek game?
Looking at the website it's only really the 4/5 blocks to the right of our fans that are going to be full/close to full. Everywhere else is bare.

Thought it would be close to a sell-out, to be honest.

Team I'd go with for tomorrow:

Beadle
Stevens - Moore - Brown - Bennett
McGuane - Brannagan
Murphy - Rodrigues - Goodrham
Bodin

Desperately need some pace on the wings, and Harris just isn't cutting it up top.
100% what the team should be.

We’ve not been the same since Leigh and Edwards got injured. Murphy replaces the pace we’ve lost, Bennett allows Brown to go back to his best position and Thorniley has been poor particularly away from home.

Bodin deserves to start over Harris.

Cannot stand Reading. Will never forget them taunting us at The Manor all those years ago, when we were broke and going down and they were going up.

i cannot wait to give them a bit back tomorrow night! They most certainly can stick their tennis balls up their collective arses.

An away atmosphere akin to Orient is required. Get behind the lads.

1-2 Ox

Got to admit, I'm dreading this game. A few weeks ago, I couldn't wait for it, but after the last few weeks, I fear the worst.

Having worked in Reading for years, with many Reading "fans" (many of which had never been to Elm Park) I despise them, and thorough enjoy their current plight.
Swindon are the bigger rivals and those games mean far more, but I'd love nothing more than to absolutely stuff them tomorrow, see them go down and suffer more financial issues.

and they can shove their tennis balls and biscuits up their a**e.

I share your dread after the events of the past four week or so, it's a good time to play us.

Losing to this lot is unthinkable, I hope the management and squad realise that and will do whatever it takes to get the win.

This is simultaneously exactly the game we need to get our togetherness back and absolutely f*****g terrifying! If it goes well we're going to get a huge boost and our bad run could be over. If we get taken apart then it'll have completely the opposite effect. It's easy to forget that we've still got quite a few players in our first 11 who couldn't pull us out of that massive run without a win earlier this year.

Hoping for a nerve shredding late comeback win.

Can't say I'm fussed much about the opposition but, a win is imperative. We were so disappointed after Saturday so a lift in spirits is required.

If Harris is left put, then Bodin is the obvious replacement? I would have him above the other 2.

Vintage supporters will never forget the plastics mocking our club as they cruised to an easy victory at Stalag Luft Manor in 2000/2001.

AGAIN WE’LL NEVER PLAY YOU AGAIN etc ad nauseam.

They were on the way to the promised land
of eighth game on MOTD; we were on our way to Phil Trainer.

I won’t be satisfied with less than a three goal victory and Buckingham planting an OUFC flag in their centre circle post-match.

Let’s destroy them.

Obviously there isn't really much of a rivalry.
It has been a long time. I think that the last time that we played at their place was 23 years ago.
And Reading are in a really bad place with their fans worrying about whether they will survive.
A shame that the crowd looks to be so poor, but it gives our team even more of a chance ( the Reading fans will surely be totally drowned out by the Oxford fans)

Not against that, but Bodin has been nearly as bad as Harris the last few games, and has also played a lot for a player with his injury history. Don't want another long term injury problem to deal with.

Was never going to be a big crowd from them, the fans that went to watch them in the prem and even the championship were fairly local people from the surrounding towns and villages who just wanted to watch a certain level of football, they had no interest in hanging around to watch lower league football, they will lose a few more thousand when they get relegated and are in the 4th division next season. Those fans from Twyford, Yateley, Hook, Old Basing etc have no real rivalry with us as they only started watching them when the new ground went up and most come from no where near Oxford. The ones there though will be among the most delusional fans in the country who refuse to accept that they used to get 3,000 at Elm Park in the fourth division and are just heading back to where a commuter town with very little identity of its owns football team should be.

Will (hopefully) be fun to rub their noses in it.

Bodin is s**t on the wing though, gets put there to fit him in the team but you either play him centrally or don't pick him for me.
