Manager/Coach KREXIT: The 'Robbo Out' thread.

I would argue we cannot afford a day off on current form. A physical "rest day" off the pitch by all means but should they not be going through tactics, studying Rovers, looking through extensive recent game footage to work out the issues? Why didn't we have a single shot in the first half vs Cambridge?

I don't care what the "normal procedure" is when we have 1 point in 21, a 6 pointer coming up and now firmly in a relegation battle.

Not one person can moan about rumours & speculation due to the fact we rarely get communication from the club at this present time. They’re the reason for all this talk. No us fans or customers whichever way you want to label it.

Owners who we haven’t heard from in months, a chairman who only updates up with his ‘programme notes’ every 2 weeks & a CEO who can’t answer a question.

It’s been P**s poor.

CEO’s and chairmen don’t get involved in days off. That is always down to the manager and staff to decide when they give players days off.
When on a run like we are managers will try the approach of making players come in Sundays and train and only give them the Wednesday off but that rarely works in my experience and the other tactic, which seems to of been done here, is tell the players to have a few days off away from the club, recharge and come back with a clearer mind. I’ve actually seen a team get told to go away after a 5th straight defeat and not come back in until the following Friday, they then won on the Saturday, went on a run and ended up staying up.

I actually think it is good that everyone has a few days away and have a chance to step back and look at what is going wrong.

Of course you do Steve, ofc.

I've been quite guarded in my opinion on this, and I hate to say it but I think KR is starting to lose the backing of the fans.

I think now is the time to draw a line and admit that if he isn't able to secure points on Saturday, he should be sacked.

He's still got some credit in the bank after that Luton game - one of the greatest turning points in footballing history - but even the memory and sheer power of that fateful day is starting to fade now.

This is B*****s Steve. Again, if my team are performing dreadfully, we get together and look at how we can improve, small enhancements or an open group.

It's got to be only football where shite performance is rewarded by a few days in the med to clear their heads it's ludicrous!

What is going wrong is poor coaching, poor recruitment, poor tactics. Those won't be resolved on a sun lounger. The sun lounger is a key part of why we are in this state.

Lol

@UTO any chance of an elusive appearance by the brown icon of anticipation?
Before Saturday there was no plans to remove him.
The board aren’t interested in a short term replacement until the end of the season. Obviously would have caretaker(s) until they get their man. But they won’t look to appoint an outsider until just the summer.

A concern is/was if they get a new man in without any chance now of any changes to any of the playing squad, would they get the results needed. Look at Toure, Critchley recently for example. Or even in our past with Rix and Waddock.
But let’s be honest, they won’t do any worse now than what KR is doing.

The hope is/was KR would do enough for a comfortable enough end of the season without the relegation battle we now look to be heading in. And then replace. I’m certain he won’t be here come the summer.
Hopefully he’s gone before the weekend, but like I said, pre match Saturday that was not the plan whatsoever.

Which Luton game was Robinson referring to?

I usually hang off every word of wisdom that comes out of his mouth, but must confess I need a little clarity on this occasion.
You're telling me you can remember the Miracle of Istanbul in 2005, the 1999 Champions League final, the Aguero final day from 2011, the Watford v Leicester Troy Deeney 2013 playoff semi final, but NOT the infamous game against Luton?

Call yourself an Oxford fan?

Tuesday 2nd October 2018
Lost 2-1 after being 1-0 up. Baptiste sent off.

Meant we had not won in 7.
And had won 1 from 11 league at the start of the season.

I can see Robinson lasting till March. We always seem to appoint managers on 22 March

I think this has been fairly obvious for a while now, they hoped to have just enough to stay up however unfortunately that looks very unlikely to be the case now.
