Transfer News January 2021/22 Transfer Window

But Fleetwood is just down the coast from Blackpool and that I’m afraid that say is a hole a big depth of depravity.

Lytham St Annes is just down the coast, lovely spot. Lancaster and its surroundings is decent as well. Blackpool and Fleetwood definitely aren;t as nice.

I'd have to live around Ulverston or just in the Lakes and commute.

No. Oxford city centre is far nicer then blackpool, the cotswolds, ridgeway, Chiltern hills are far superior then anything up near Blackpool. Not to mention we are closer to London and beautiful seaside towns in Devon, Cornwall. The houses might be cheaper up north but everything else like shopping and bills are about the same now.

But they do have the Lake District

Erm have you heard of the Lake District? That's not too bad. Anyway, I imagine personal ties are more relevant than house prices or scenery

I don’t disagree that Oxford is nicer but you spend most of your life in your house and I’d personally much rather live in a nicely done up, big detached house with a massive garden than a pokey 2 up 2 down semi

Oh have you not heard of the phrase Location, location, location? Also I don't imagine footballers do spend most of their life in their house. It's just a temporary base, not a 'forever home' as Kirsty would say.

Bunch of my brother’s mates moved to the Blackpool area 15-odd years ago. All train drivers who were paid a flat salary across the whole company / network regardless of location, so they all put in for transfers to the north. They went from living in flats or very modest terraces in places like Abingdon to 4/5 bedroom detached houses by the sea. There are plenty of nice places just down the coast from Blackpool, it’s not all a complete hole.

We need another signing before people start discussing pensions.
Yep, my cousin was one of them!!

Getting worried we haven't heard the latest bid has been rejected yet...

...... except the lake District

Johnson was 400k up front and 260k sell-on (10% of 2.6m profit as Boro paid 3m, not the 2.5m some have claimed.) 660k total, broadly speaking.

Browne hasn’t cost that much.
I always wondered if the Andy Melville deal was actually higher as we paid a decent fee plus a sell on I am sure.

Lytham St Anne's the other way Baz. Lovely place to live.
Southport is a bit strange - lots of deprivation, but also home to quite a number of Liverpool players and high earning staff ( probably Everton players , and players of other teams based in the North West are attracted there too)

All this talk of our Board now doubling the price due to the lapsed release clause is a load of rubbish.

We attract players of CB’s calibre because we have built a reputation of being a club that develops and trades players - not a club that prices these players out of moves to teams in a higher division.

OUFC, CB and his agent will all know what the magic figure needs to get to and there will be an agreement in place that if it’s met, Cam can talk to the ‘buying’ club. That is it.
And there is a reason why they keep coming in with bids.

But Cheshire is a different kettle of fish and that is expensive

Stopped off at Southport after a ' footy tour ' of Blackpool to play a match , Razor Ruddock was watching as some of his mates were playing against us ...
