Please see previous posting! Young(ish) not very young.
Not young because the position has fundamentally changed in the last 10 years. Today most keepers are expected to sweep up behind the back four, be very comfortable with the ball at their feet. Consequently it has become a new generation position hence why keepers are so comparitively young . We see Eastwood not that comfortable with the requirement. Wycombe play off winner would have been cleared by Stevens due to his starting position as an example.

This is a fair point. I also think Eastwood has had a rapid decline in the last 12 months. And quite unexpected. It may well be a confidence issue (possibly related to his injury?). I have always thought that keepers are more confidence-driven. They obviously have far more scrutiny on individual mistakes than outfield players. Joe Hart is a recent example of a keeper whose form fell off a cliff within months. Same as Paul Robinson (for those who can remember).. made one very bad mistake for England and within months was playing for Leeds reserves. Eastwood's final games for us were very poor. I would be surprised to see him play for us again. I don't even think he'll get a L1 club now. And considering, we all thought he'd be off to the Championship 18 months ago, that's surprising. Just shows and all that. I could see KR swap Eastwood for an experienced keeper who's happy to play back up for a couple of years.

He'll play for us at Wembley in the Pizza Cup final

I assume his family are still up north so being apart for most of the week from his family may be having an effect on him mentally.

No need to sell this summer, but no harm in looking 18months down the roading and considering the next move (just as we did with Atkinson replacing Dickie)

Well, that's the key, isn't it.

What made the Dickie sale easier to stomach (although I still feel that Covid screwed us, and we'd have got more in a normal year) was that we knew that we had another exciting prospect in Atkinson who was ready to step in.

I know it's tough in the current environment, but we haven't really signed any really exciting prospects in any position in the past year, since Atkinson (I would put both Osei Yaw and Asonganyi in a lower tier).

And we do need to keep the pipeline full to make this model work........

It has been said numerous times that they moved back down to Oxford in the summer. Eastwood himself mentioned it on an ifollow interview.

Ah cheers, either missed it or forgot about it. I started with "I assume" as I wasn't certain.

We won’t be signing many players with what is going on at the moment, centre back cover and a cheap winger on loan, reckon we will try and leave it till the end of the window with the uncertainty at the moment.
Nothing unusual in that where OUFC are concerned.

Yeh I was going to say it depends where the coaching staff see Obita playing long term, I think you're probably correct. either way full back is an area which could definitely be improved. Love Sam Long but he’s got almost nothing going forwards.
Just doing a lot of catching up after a few months away and this post from late December caught my eye. Ruffels was criticised a few posts prior to it.

This forum is clearly very useful for motivating underperforming players!
