Transfer News Transfer window 2020/21

I don’t understand this idea that Obita will play left back? He’s played the grand total of one game there, in the pointless trophy, and even when fully fit and available during Ruffels recent run of absolutely atrocious form, he wasn’t played there. Given Josh seems to be coming back into his usual, more dependable Mr 7/10 self, I can’t see Obita suddenly being put at left back now - why hasn’t it already happened?

I'm guessing that you missed Sam Long's goal yesterday? Or the way he ran the length of the pitch late against Wimbledon? The run and cross he put on the plate for Taylor against Swindon? Or the numerous other times he's got forward with real purpose since moving back to RB? Or the 60 yard diagonal balls out of the defence when playing CB?

I know I'm a full signed up member of the Sam Long fan club but he's been far from ordinary for the last 2 years, and fantastic this season.

Yes he has but if we can get better - and Cadden definitely is better - then surely we try and do that and at the same time ask Long to raise his game to even another level to try and keep his place and keep Cadden out.

According to the Oxford Mail KR is already backtracking on his original promises of who he wants to sign. Don’t hold your breath for four players in ......

"I still want four players and I’ve never changed that.

“But there’s a number of things I might not do now that I thought I might do a week ago.”

Still looks like he wants the 4 players, but we know that anyone coming in must replace others in the squad. Cooper is one space, and I fully expect Mous to be a second. Hall has not featured and I suspect that he'll be the third to come off the books one way or another. The final space, if we bring 4 in, would presumably be between Sykes and Forde (and a slim chance of Agyei), and may depend on who comes in. All this report is saying is that the attitudes/performances in the last week has changed KR's thinking which is a positive isn't it?

It would be a bit odd if he changed what he was going to do on the basis of one game - and some of the players in question only came on as subs! Surely, what he has seen over the season so far (plus in training) would be a better guide? Players upping their game if they think they might be for the chop wouldn't be surprising...

So we sign Cadden and we consign Long to the bench? That’s harsh
If there is an exceptional player free you sign them (finances allowing)
Then Long and Cadden fight it out.
Jim Smith always did that. Player of the season, Paul Hinshelwood was replaced by Dave Langan, Whitmore, Higgins, Vintet who scored a lot between them, replaced by Hamilton and Aldridge.

Not if the January signings are made with a view of next season. We brought in Atkinson last January and look what a key player he is now.
And should probably look to bring another CB in in a similar way as Atkinson will be getting plenty of attention!

So signing Camden for a large fee and keep him on the bench to push long on is getting mooted, how about addressing the teams real issues rather than wasting money
Camden Town? The whole team? Ambitious, by the way, which league do they play in?

Karl didn’t promise 4 players! He also said in the article that he sometimes says things, in the press to put fear into players. It’s called mind games and all managers do it.

Why is anyone surprised this? KR gets a vicious case of verbal diarrhoea every single transfer window
