General Most Loved/Hated Music

I think the Bohemian Rhapsody thing is to do with it's singalongability. I don't mind it so much, but We Are the Champions can fk right off.

Love
Ghost Town - Specials
White Man in Hammersmith Palais - Clash
Kool Thing - Sonic Youth
Beaten Generation - The The
Tangled Up in Blue - Bob Dylan

Hate
Not so easy - as SteMerritt says: if I don't like something I don't listen to it, but these will have me changing the radio station if they come on:
As mentioned: Put a Ring on it - Beyonce can do one
Riding Shotgun - Shitgun more like
Anything by U2
Ditto Sting
Losing my Religion - REfkinM

Doves are working on new music apparently, had the best of on the car yesterday while ferrying my teenager and three of her friends back from a theme park, helped me get through that joyous journey.

Have to say, I still think the best thing they ever did was Ain't no Love (Ain't no Use). Even at 45, I suspect that would get me on the dancefloor still.......

Top 5 would vary with mood, but along the lines of:

Beth Orton - Stolen Car
Hybrid - If I Survive
Rammstein - Adios
Ian Dury & the Blockheads - Itinerant Child
And something by Radiohead......probably dominated by a Greenwood bass hook....maybe 'National Anthem' or 'Where I end and you begin'

There's lots of songs I hate, but nothing turns me psychotic and makes me never want to listen to music ever again like Eternal ****ing Flame by the ****ing Bangles.

Tough but various stages of life I'd go,( 6 not 5 )

Frankie goes to hollywood- Two Tribes
Smiths- How soon is now
The Sundays- My finest hour
Ride - Cool your boots
The Specials - Friday night/ Saturday morning
Divine Comedy- Tonight we fly

Worst ...artificial bands , gangsta rap

Changes all the time for favourites, you have to rotate them else you can get sick of them, don't think I could get it down to anywhere near 5 though but 5 I have been listening to recently.

Ride - Vapour Trail

Bill Ryder Jones - This can't go on

Doves - Carousels

Troubled son - Miles Kane

Whatever happened to my Rock and Roll - Black Rebel motorcycle club

But songs I hate are easier.

Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen. could be any Queen, but as this is one of the most played it wins out.

Love is all around - Wet, Wet, Wet. If you were around when it was number one forever you shudder when you hear it.

Galway Girl - Ron Weasleys evil twins worst song which is going some.

Every Taylor Swift song, they all sound the same, no point picking one.

I will always love you - Whitney Houston, stop screaming love.

If I am allowed a sixth that Beyonce one about putting a ring on it, no, f**k off.

Can't mention the Wet, Wet, Wet one without mentioning Bryan Adam's steering pile of shite that was number one for 63 years in the early 90s.

Wholeheartedly agree with Bohemian Rhapsody & Queen too.

Sit Down - James. Half decent band but that really is a pile of s**t.

Mull of Kintyre / Sailing - Rod McCartney. Just f**k off. Surprised I made it to adulthood with that stacked against me.

Too many other crimes against music to mention.

First 5 to enter my head

Champion - Buju Banton
Juicy - Christopher Wallace
Social Living - Winston Rodney
Girl of my complexion - Jah Woosh
Lately - Naturalites etc
Train left the station - Robert Johnson

5 I hate

Beatles
Eagles
Queen
Pink Floyd (post-Barrett)
Led Zeppelin
I was about to post that this is, musically speaking, a fairly conservative thread and then low and behold, Burning Spear and to quote the Notorious, 'Get a grip motherfucker!'

You have an excellent taste in music, sir.

I've been listening to this a lot recently, love it. Been in a Specials mood recently for some reason.
Two-Tone is a label I’ve collected over the years - that first run of singles from the Specials, Beat, Madness and Selector, as well as the first two Specials albums, are peerless. However, the last lot of singles, including the Appolinaires, The Higsons & JBs Allstars are uniformly poor and all that happened in about two years!

I really need to give my Selector album a spin soon, it's been a while.

Takes me right back to my youth , loved this so much as was a real take on life then.
Leaving a factory job on a Friday afternoon then the weekend was pub's and footy certainly trying to get a pull but more than not ending up with a kebab .
Sold Terry Hall a ticket a few times later on as he travelled from Marylebone to see his son !

I’m rubbish at this sort of question, I like lots of things and hate plenty, or certainly am sick of hearing them. I always love to hear Another Girl Another Planet by the Only Ones, and can’t bear the tinny, cheesy sound of Wham.
