Dot Counting Stevenage Crowd - Sell Out?

Attendance tracking
It's the only Saturday 3pm home kickoff between 5th March and August, against a relatively local playoff challenger, with promotion still a very real possibility.

I'm amazed that we're not close to selling out.
Colin is estimating 95% of the home seats sold. Close to selling out ?!
Also Peterborough sound close to selling out.
Hopefully it could surprise us and be 11k

In fairness that is more than I was expecting. 11k will be a good showing.

Will we get a choice of flavour? I prefer a fruit trifle to a chocolate one, either Raspberry or Strawberry, don’t want to be difficult.

I prefer my Grandma's, a bottle of Sherry poured into a bowl with sponge, custard and cream floating on top.

Don't think it would pass the alcohol rules if they wanted to eat it in their chair mind.

11.30pm update on Friday and now just 1,154 home seats left split

North Stand 184
East Stand 272
South Stand Upper 312
South Stand Lower 386

That means home seat sales of 8,400 (400 today) and total home sales (inc box estimate of 250) of 8,650.

Add in 1,000+ from Peterborough and we are at 9,650 with 300 likely on the day sales.

So unless Peterborough bring closer to their full allocation of 1,400+, I think it will be around the 10,000 mark.

I tell you what will improve our atmosphere from the start of the game, changing our pre match music to more upbeat songs/music, turn the volume up and don't cut the music out until the ref blows the whistle to start. Not sure what the cutting the music out a minute before kick off is all about the last few games but it's stupid in my eyes.
Disagree with this, the music drowns out the atmosphere from the fans, waste of time trying to get any atmosphere going if there is a load of tinpot loud music blaring out.

Not always. You can play music that fans can chant along too which I've seen countless times watching away games on Ifollow. Ours currently sends fans to sleep.

I can just hear those ballons now!!

Just not a fan of them as most of the time they end up on the pitch with players, officials etc spending a number of minutes trying to pop them, this distracting from the game etc!

Love a good atmosphere though!

Surely they make a noise when they pop 😉

I’d really hate loud naff music right up to kickoff, it’s not some children’s event

Depends what you class as naff?

The kids including mine think our pre match build up is naff especially when they've seen the light shows and effects used by certain clubs like Wolves.

Well they didn't put us off on 20th April 1986*, loads of balloons on the pitch then. In fact, yes, bring the balloons, they might act as a lucky charm.

* Here ends my referencing something from nearly 40 years ago as being relevant today. Next step is 'old man shouts at cloud' from here.

Welcome to the club............... :ROFLMAO:

Middlesbrough did some silly light show and music before kick off when we played them in the cup a few years ago, came across as trying too hard to build an atmosphere. I am probably of the old school supporter and remember the London road not having to rely on music so am probably out of touch.
What I would like to see is the club engage with the Ultras/Yellow Army, or whoever, and agree on something that works, when it gets going the atmosphere can be quite good, despite the open end, at the moment it’s as if nobody is allowed to sing and cheer their team on.

Definitely should work with a fan group to improve the atmosphere. But all fans need to be open to the idea of a snare drum to set the rhythm and tempo of the singing. I remember a few games back someone was banging on the side of the east stand roof uprights and it worked to keep everyone in line.

Over 200 sold since @Thecurraghofkildare posted at 3:30pm meaning we're currently over 8,350 and over 350 so far today. I'd say my forecast of 500 today and over 500 tomorrow is still on, and will leave us with 95% of all home seats sold (we're currently at 87%).

With Peterborough having pre-sold 1,000 I'd still expect an attendance of about 10,300. It's a shame about the Stevenage game, as if that was next Saturday at 3pm, and we were still in the mix, that would be the one to sell out.
No midnight count from me, as I went to bed early, but did one at the crack of dawn today instead.

We were at 8,456 meaning 450 sold on Friday, 50 short of my forecast, but still very good. It's a nice morning, and forecast to be a nice day, so I'd expect good sales today to take us over 9,000 home fans and comfortably over 10,000 total. Many areas are full, or nearly full, with the North Stand leading the way at 96% sold followed by the East Stand at 91% sold. As usual the end blocks of the SSL are the slowest to sell.

Our atmosphere is so bad that I think anything organised is trying to run before you can walk.

How about we all just get behind the team for a game, cheer our players, boo theirs and get on the refs back about the slightest thing.

As with the stadium situation, register your support on the planning portal people, do your own bit and don’t rely on others.
