Worst case they take up 2 squad places, and still cost us money regardless of how cheap!

Odd JS hasn’t had trials anywhere else (not that I know of anyway). 12 months away from the game at 24/25 is more than worrying and he wasn’t that highly thought of when he was with us before was he?

If Jones was fully fit again and injury free he could be heck of a player but his injury record means he’s a heck of a risk. Why is it always us that seem to be a soft touch.

Can’t we just have a transfer window of signing some solid decent pro’s with no serious injury history? Or chequered history?

Thought we got plenty of money available, we shouldn‘t be needing to go down this route surely?

What a lovely dream you’re having.

This stuff gets criticised now yet during Mapps tenure it was talked about on a regular basis due to sports science etc etc etc

Yeah. The Winnall disaster at least taught many at the club a pretty important lesson, with everyone realising quickly that they’d made a huge mistake and not done their due diligence properly (ie, check that he could actually still run)

So I wouldn’t expect to see many more 2yr deals being handed to signings of this type and, as was seemingly the case with Bodin and now Jones, we’ll be leaving no stone unturned as to their physical fitness.

We're playing Coventry on Saturday, aren't we? So really we need to be signing a couple of players pretty much today.
Could that be wishful thinking? One of our alleged transfers had now become a hiccup, just hope it doesn’t involve Barnsley trying to gazzump us again.

That’s a fare comment Tats but imagine if he wasn’t a disaster?

A Twitter account is claiming a hiccup which is slightly different. Haven't a clue if it is true or not but it isn't something to be taken as gospel.

I’ve not taken it as gospel but at this stage of the window and the lack of transfer buisness you read everything with interest.

I’m not sure that Omonia Nicosia are such a step down from us - they play in front of 23,000 fans, Neil Lennon is their manager, they won their domestic cup last season and will be in Europe this season. Throw in the weather and if he’s on a decent wage he’s hardly scraping a living in the a**e end of nowhere.
We loaned Liam Kelly from Feyenoord and Gino van Kessel from Slavia Prague. Very big clubs that play European football most seasons in front of lots of fans, in a league much better than the Cypriot one. Neither of them were / are world beaters.

I’m not sure there’s a wealth of evidence that anybody not thinking Brandon Barker is all that has egg on their face just yet. Maybe he will rip it up in Cyprus and become a superstar, but there’s no evidence to be found at present that he’s capable of playing higher than League One at best.

I don't see that having a different first team manager would make the club better at signing players?
The question has to be why can’t we attract the players other teams manage but let’s be honest as much a I like KR his transfer dealings haven’t been great with the timing. Yes he has got some decent players in but this is now becoming embarrassing with our transfer activity especially if it’s been alluded a much higher and better budget.

As far as I'm aware, Jodi Jones is left footed. Do we think he could be an option at left back as cover for Seddon?

Sinclair has played at the highest level of three different countries. He obviously had the talent at some point, so can see why they'd have a look when he's only 25.

Would say it's unlikely he does have the hunger these days and it may even be an example of just allowing him to train with us, like Wilshere did with Arsenal or Eriksen did with Ajax when trying to get back into the game. But think using this as a stick to beat the club/KR with is stretching it a bit.

And scored 1 goal across those top flights. In Bulgaria. At this place...

Not denying that he was once highly rated or that he could have an impact here. I am (along with others) simply questioning what appears to be a strange move based on his career trajectory and his goal scoring record at any level - and I should be able to do that without being accused of attacking KR or the club - now that is a stretch.

For the record - this is entirely different to the likes of Baldock, Bodin or even Jones. These players - whilst maybe representing a different sort of risk - have all got the track record to varying degrees. Other than a high price tag once upon a time and 1 goal in a League where I would fancy Matty Taylor to score 30+ - I'm not sure what good evidence there is to suggest that Sinclair is going to help OUFC reach The Championship?

In fairness, that fact that you have seemingly retreated into 'he could just be training with us' tells me that you also have concerns and that you are not sold on him - please feel free to express those concerns - it's no crime.

I want the best for OUFC. If that is Jerome Sinclair - I'm open to it.

Well having lived there for 10 years and still owning a property there, and having watched a hell of a lot of Cypriot football, I’d say I’m best placed to answer.

Nice one, i also lived there for over 10 years, also have some property, its stuck in no mans land in Famagusta, but thats another story.
Not seen a game for a while so things may have changed but i thought some of the better teams, Anorthosis, Apoel would do ok in L1.

Definitely not… he’s an attacking minded forward who was let go from Cov as he couldn’t play wing-back, let alone full-back

Famagusta world heritage site isn’t it?
