Wilder as footballing innovator?

I haven't mastered the quote facility but I've a bloody good mind to report the PC post that used the words "Francis Green". Do you not realise how long it's taken me to fully delete all memories of his performances!

And the dam right rude an disrespectful way in which he left with out even a thank you to the fans that largely stood by him.

Sorry, but that's a joke. The fans largely disliked him and wanted him out. I understand why (the football was pretty dire). I think Wilder learnt a hell of a lot at Oxford, which helped him be successful elsewhere I'm sure. I wasn't surprised he buggered off to somewhere else that offered him a 2 year contract and the hatred for him here is mostly from the "manager out crowd" who hate him even more now that he's proved beyond doubt that he's a very good manager.

Joke is it, but u have just said urself it was the “wilder out crowd” that didn’t like him, so do u not find it rude and chippy not to thank the fans that didn’t, the fans that supported throughout, he didn’t even tell his employer and only returned once he was obviously told that legally il could have him on gardening leave and he wouldn’t be allowed to swan off to Northampton

Philiskirk! Sorry.

Wilder was crapped on by the Chairman (IL). Appleton was crapped on by the Chairman (DE). Don;t blame either for leaving and bettering themselves. If it's true that Pep was sold the job on the basis the best players aren't leaving then he's been crapped on too - by the Chairman(DE)

I haven’t said for a min he wasn’t. I’m also greatfull for him getting us out the conference (just) but at least giving us that memorable day. I also remember a lot of very dull dire performances, him having a go at our history, and taking dig and insults at the club in nearly every press conference he did for about 2 years after he left. Christ his first thought on winning the league with Northampton was to mention and sing a song about oxford on his open top parade. I didn’t like him much when he was here, I don’t like him much now he’s not. That won’t change, what ever he goes on to do.

I'm not saying he conducted himself in an exemplary manner but he is clearly a good manager. At Oxford his tools were taken away by the Chairman who wanted to sell the club.

He was lucky he still had any tools to use after the two previous seasons.

You really hate the guy. That;s sad. He got us back into the FL. He wanted to take us higher but IL didn't want it. CW was treated like crap and I'm pleased he's having some success. Remember IL is now instrumental along with Harvey in trying to get Prem/Champ B teams into the FL - he's a highwayman. Quick Buck......

Don’t really hate him at all. I don’t like him. But it’s also a fact that he should have been let go a year before he was treated like crap, because our performances and position were , well - crap

IL ran put of money; partly because Kelvin & Wilder overspent. Wilder
failed to deliver any progress on 2 seasons when funded. It's shameful to pretend Lenaghan (who funded the club after being shafted by Nick Merry) and revived the youth set-up) treated the ginger turd 'like crap' when in truth he was lenient beyond belief.

I applaud him for staying then.. It must have been clear then that investment was going to be limited but he tried with what he had.

Don't b;ame the manager - Kelvin had the wallet - and he had it at bankrupt Northampton.......

I think u will find he was doing all he could to leave, applying for every job going. But not getting any so signed the new rolling contract as it was all that was on offer. Still he’s moved on, we’ve moved on. Good luck to him, ur not going to change my mind that he’s a t**t

Yes. But at least the history has been reported as well as your fatuous nonsense.

Wouldn't you look for another job if you knew your career was going nowhere as it stands?
