Confirmed, all games cancelled until 3rd April making the Rochdale game our next fixture if nothing else changes.Screenshot_20200313-110028_BBC Sport.jpg

I'm looking forward to hearing the rationale from the EFL, given the statement they put out yesterday.

EFL matches will continue to take place as normal while the guidance from the relevant authorities remains that there is no medical rationale to close or cancel sporting events at this time.

it’s disappointing but is the right thing to do. It’s just a leisure pursuit that can be stopped for now while some more essential activities and travel are allowed to continue
it's a knee-jerk grand gesture that doesn't have any meaningful effect on the spread of coronavirus. I agree with the "bunch of clowns" assessment.

That is entirely incorrect though if you listen to the medical experts.

Ignoring the fact that we need to generate a heard immunity to the virus... people will now be more likely to remain in closer environments, home, pub or perhaps they will take the advantage of going to visit their elderly relatives they haven't seen for a while.

In April the virus will be far worse.

Because all the medical advice is against stopping sporting events and in April the coronavirus will be much much worse.
Suspend all sporting events in April as well then, but in the meantime, the virus is spreading right now, and they can't just let people keep turning up in their thousands to stadiums, using public transport, sitting in pubs and restaurants before games, whilst members of the public, players, managers and staff continue getting infected, it's madness.

Unfortunately, now is the right time to stop, and not start again until it's safe to do so, big shame, but better safe than sorry.

As much as we all love it, at the end of the day, it's only sport, the health and safety of the whole of society is much more important.

The health and safety of the whole of society is much more important and that is why it is wrong to stop sporting events.

What’s the highest level of local football that will continue?
Good point - but if a couple of thousand start turning up to Brackley or Oxford City it won't be long before those leagues are suspended as well!

I think it could be the end of the season, how are clubs going to start up again in April if the disease is still spreading, just taking the football side in the equation how many players or their families going to be affected, ground and stadium staff to run the clubs, this is only the first step before a bigger shutdown.

I suspect that this decision will end in the entire season being abandoned. Waiting till April 3rd will simply mean that the Coronavirus has an even greater hold on the country. So a further postponement will be necessary. Since the current prognosis is that the Virus will only peak at around in 13 to 14 weeks time then there will be no time to complete the games. Given this I suspect that a number of clubs will go under. Not a very good thought.

What a stupid comment. Why on earth should EFL want to make a 'grand gesture' in the face of the massive financial loss which will follow? Yes it's very disappointing but nobody is certain about what will have a meaningful effect on spread of the virus. This was clearly a very difficult decision which had to be made at speed, weighing up the pros and cons. The delay strategy prioritises the need to minimise the strains on support and health services and this just edged the decision.

It’s s**t but nothing I can do about it. Still getting the train in and going on the P**s with my mates tomorrow and I doubt I will be alone in that, so not certain what it solves but there you go.
