Everton Under-23 Coach David Unsworth wanted by the Oxford United.

So we return to the question: Are there any credible candidates out there, apart from Faz, who actually want the job??

There are more factors that candidates would consider before accepting the job. It has to be financially attractive, with a decent length contract.
Also some managers work closely with an assistant manager at different clubs, and wouldn’t fancy working alone with existing staff.
Did we cover these base, to attract him here?
Maybe his eyes have turned elsewhere by a better offer.

I’m not holding my breath on anything happening this week. A win on Saturday strengthens Faz’s position, a defeat might speed the process of finding someone else up a bit
"a defeat might speed the process of finding someone else up a bit". This should read "a defeat might speed the process up a bit of finding someone else". You have turned the sentence into a split infinitive.

There is, in fact, no infinitive in that sentence at all - split or otherwise. You’re talking nonsense.

Should that not be "a defeat might speed up the process a bit..."?

Shouldn’t it be, everyone knows what he was getting at so does it bloody matter how grammatically correct it is

Message for Unsworth via Dougie Trendle aka Buster Blood vessel... "Lip Up, Fatty :p

Excuse me, but can people stop ruining this thread with talk about David Unsworth please?

There’s a serious discussion about grammar that you’re all riding roughshod over.

f**k him.

Who does he think he is, putting out statements that he's turned us down, when he hasn't even been offered the job.

He should be prepared to crawl over broken glass for the opportunity to manage OUFC, otherwise he's not the man for us!

I’m not sure he has, I think the press have taken him ruling himself out, as him rejecting an offer. One it seems wasn’t even made.
