New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

I attempted to have a chat with Calum Miller on his FB page, wasnt rude. Suggested that Calum could romp home in the GE, even more so if he supported the club.

Asked some questions, including why has Layla refused to answer any questions, does the party stand with Levy and Gant...then Nick Cotter Deputy Leader jumped in to say this:

It doesn’t reflect well on the Lib Dem’s if they just want to shut down the conversation with cries of ‘bully’ when the people they represent ask difficult questions they’d rather not answer.

It’s easy to be in opposition, less so when you have to justify your decision making and views as an elected representative. Perhaps some Lib Dem’s struggle with that? Cllr Middleton clearly does.

Maybe they don't like being challenged about the comfort of that fence they love sitting on?

Isn't the electorate asking councillors to support something they believe in exactly what local politics is about?

Regarding the phenomenal atmosphere and experience last night and the general, benefits to the community and feel-good factor, would it not be a good idea to invite the main anti-stadium counsellors and protagonists to see what all the fuss is about? What's at stake. Why we feel so passionate and strongly that the club needs a new home.
Maybe reaching out with an olive branch, giving them a box to enjoy and let them witness for themselves the magic of this club.
Build bridges - physical and symbolic.

That would involve them doing something they have never done - visit OX4.

Considering Middleton didn't even bother to go to the presentation at Stratfield Brake I can't imagine he'd entertain the idea

Literal translation, Allah is great. It's been a well used phrase by all Muslim devotees for centuries. Very much associated with terrorists though as most of the latter day sort are followers of Islam in one form or another.
I just find it very sad that in a country where we strive for inclusivity of all, a local politician ignores his electorate in favour of another country altogether. And, he's a Green party member! Is that what the Greens are now? A represent anything you like, or dislike party? b****r national policy, just do, and say, whatever you like. How is his support for Gaza getting the bins emptied, potholes filled, planning applications scrutinised, parks maintained. Does he even care about that part of the position he's taken on?

He’s got some great plans for adult social care.

Maybe he ought to mind his own business if he cannot be bothered to look at what OUFC are proposing?

Oh wait his ego don't allow that.

Gareth has been a breath of fresh air, a brilliant open and frank chap to talk too. Sadly he lost in Tackley. One of the few LDs to do so.

Steve is yapping it's due to the pro stance.

If the few people in Tackley who bothered to vote in a very low turnout local election did so over a development being built over 5 miles away then you have to worry what they are putting in the water there, it’s essentially like people in Clifton Hampden claiming that the games at the Kassam have an effect on them.

It wasn’t just Tackley. It’s a joint ward of Stonesfield and Tackley.

Stonesfield is a larger village, a population of 1600 compared to Tackley 1200.

The Green candidate lives in Stonesfield, no doubt a sizeable amount of her vote came from Stonesfield.

As I’ve said before, the Lib Dem candidate Gareth Epps is from Charlbury (not Stonesfield or Tackley) and I’m sure that rightly or wrongly for some voters that will come into their decision making, and as you say it was a low turnout and these few votes can make all the difference.
