iFollow

Time to remove my credit card number at iFollow before they extend me for next season. Let's wait until we know more.

iFollow will be pretty much dead anyway won't it under the new TV deal with Sky?
This was how Sky announced the deal.

Looks very much as though Sky will have the monopoly. No indication of costs, as yet.

I have recently lost my bank card so had to cancel it. This means it will cancel my iFollow subscription and I can’t see me being in a rush to renew it.
It was already limited with content this season but since Chris Williams has left it has become non existent.

"All 127 EFL Trophy matches"

Ha! Losers!

I asked iFollow how to remove my credit card as the "remove" button did nothing. It seems that I can only remove my card after the season is over!!!!
Now waiting for a reply if I receive a warnig before extention occurs.

I see that Sky are only doing 248 L1 matches = less than 11 games per club. Also not interesting.

This all sounds very sucky.
Will it still be possible to watch all the matches? What will the effect be on non-UK residents?
I'm not going to pay sky £xx per month or whatever to just watch 1 game a month.

In this country, without a dodgy box/vpn, you should be able to watch every game that's not played at 3pm on a Saturday, which going on the last couple of seasons will be a fair chunk of games. Not a clue about abroad and how that will work.

How many of these matches will have their kick off times (and even days) changed? Does this mean the 3 o’clock kick off now can’t be taken for granted?

I messaged them using the contact button yesterday asking to cancel my subscription with immediate effect.

Was done within an hour.

"Domestic streaming audio services will remain alongside existing audio-visual arrangements for international audiences via iFollow and club streaming services."

Don't cancel your VPN's just yet folks! ;)

I just use it for watching games from Oz late on a Saturday evening. As long as I can do that I'm happy. If that capability gets eroded I won't be happy.

If I read it right then on any given Saturday next season, 5 games in the Championship and 5 spread across L1 and L2 will be televised - and so won't be happening between 14.45 and 17.15. Don't know if that just means Wrexham every week or if there's some kind of commitment to an even spread of clubs.

This is the irony of it all. No games televised that kick off at 15:00 in case we all stay at home to watch but, when Sky roll up and wave a fistful of dosh at the EFL, any games they want are fair game. Are Sky paying a fair price? I doubt it, not with the EFL involved.

Says every fixture on the opening day will be broadcast - I'm assuming that means the season will now be kicking off at 12.30 or on a Sunday or some such?

Yep... more shafting for those who actually wish to be there in person.

A long time ago some wise old grumpy bloke said those who actually attend will be far less valuable than the "customers" watching a stream...........................

“All opening, final day, and midweek fixtures in the Sky Bet EFL will be shown live as will all games played on Bank Holidays including Easter, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day alongside the matches played in Sky Bet League One & Two during international breaks.”

What if a game is PP? Will it be shown on Sky?
