General Fans Forum - Kassam Stadium - 7th March @ 6.30pm

Give it a rest will you. It's boring. I've got stuck records that sound better.

Don`t like the fact you were conned & couldn`t see the bigger picture, where supporters voices are diluted, the supporters hold a minority place on the FAB/CAB and the club hold all the cards?

I understand. :)

The first draft CAB /FAB never had fans in a minority. If it were introduced it was always intended to consist entirely of fans. The proposal was for the two existing fan groups to have 1 seat each, the additional places would go to other fans (exact make up and mechanisms are part of ours and OxVox's feedback/discussion). It was always the case that Club would attend meetings but not be part of board.
We anticipate that once this feedback has been considered a revised proposal will go out to fans for wider feedback.

Beginning to look like there won’t be much chat about the stadium at the FF if it actually
Goes ahead now. Tim is in big trouble

To be fair, I wouldn’t have thought any pertinent information could be gleamed from the panel.
Until it gains planning approval there’s nothing meaningful to discuss .
Except maybe how it will be financed ?

he'll no doubt drone on about what is already public knowledge, (assuming the FF goes ahead march 7), nullifying a sizable amount of time that should have been allocated ( at an open FF) for question asking and answering - I can see time running out before ALL Qs have been asked and answers given to the many pertinent and relevnt topics at the (hopefully) forthcoming FF

Odds on it being cancelled last minute, if not TW and GF if he’s there could be in for a very rough time. Time for everyone to be held accountable.

As much as there are clearly issues elsewhere the stadium is still absolutely crucial. I wouldn't mind knowing if it's going to be done it time, where we'd play if not and why fans haven't been told this is a possibility, who's going to pay for it and how, who will own it when it's done and how much is it going to cost the club to use it.

The finishing touches.

Exactly this. The allocated time is just 1 1/2 hours. A good part of that will be taken up by Williams & Grant setting out their stall before inviting questions. I have hopes that because Oxvox and OUSP are the organisers, they will take charge and push things along. (if allowed to do so by the afore mentioned!)

3 hour round trip to watch some suits not answering questions for 90 minutes, if they turn up,.......... its about as appealing as trying to stop an angle grinder with your tongue.

Doubtless pre-selected/pre vetted questions that aren`t too tricky will be put forward by the chosen. The suits will waffle about "customer service" the division/disconnect between supporters and club will grow wider.

And all that despite having an extra group of volunteers purportedly to make our "experience" better. ;)

Will they though?

Also think that individuals who ask questions should be able to hold onto the mic so that they can counter challenge the response they’ve received from their initial question if they don’t feel it’s been addressed or answered incorrectly etc!!

I think time will be an issue, but hopefully it can continue off line as such if that’s where the time pressure is derived from e.g. Tim et al are still prepared to take/answer questions which are minuted.

The general makeup of already established FAB/CAB models is as below.

"The FAB will meet independently without club representation on a monthly basis. All meeting minutes will be made available to the wider fanbase once approved at the subsequent FAB meeting.

There are already several established FAB/CAB out there.......... this is what one does...........

"Additionally, the FAB will meet with ***** Football Club executives on at least a quarterly basis, with guaranteed attendance of a representative from the ***** Board of Directors at all meetings. A public record outlining discussions at each meeting will be made available via Club and Fan Advisory Board channels. "

Under the Terms of Reference , the FAB operates independently and is consulted on:

  • ***** strategic vision and objectives;
  • Any proposals relating to ***** heritage;
  • ******* plans for broader supporter engagement;
  • Escalation, as agreed, of issues from organisations and supporter groups that engage in separate structured dialogue with the Club;
  • ****** stadium relocation and the subsequent ****** Legacy Project;
  • Finance and revenue generation; and
  • Governance, regulation and compliance"

So much the same as you operate now, with OxVox holding a place in the meetings, and club representatives attending quarterly meetings, however the FAB/CAB noted above takes on issues that OxVox currently do independently (questioning governance etc)

But no, the existence of a club construct isn`t weakening the fans voice in any way or form..................... and you can`t see it.

@OxVox will this FF be streamed and recorded for supporters to watch retrospectively? Also, who will be the MC? Are the questions being asked by an OUFC employee or by a member of OxVox?

Still think it’s mental the football club have not announced the fans forum is going ahead a week tomorrow.

nothing on the website
Nothing on social media
Nothing via email
Etc etc

It’s almost like they’re trying to limit reach..
