General Rules Changes - Your Opinion

I think the only way to save the game at this point is to introduce a multi-ball system. Every time 15mins elapses without a goal an additional ball is introduced, it stays active until somebody scores with it, at which point it is removed from play. Only the original ball (which is changed so it is gold in colour) stays throughout the game and if used to score a goal you get a standard kick-off to restart - score with a multi-ball and the game just continues with any remaining balls in play.
I back this

Or how about awarding fractional 'goals' for corners? Say a corner is 1/20th of a goal. So if if team gets 20 corners, they are awarded a goal - and of course if the score is drawn at full time, then the corner count comes into play to decide the result? And if that doesn't separate them, the team that committed the least fouls wins. And if that doesn't work, play extra time - start off with five a side and one player from each team has to go off every 2 minutes. First goal wins. Or get the player's mums there and the first team that has a player called in for their tea loses?
Better yet, after every 2 minutes a player is replaced by a member of the U7 squad.

I think your idea is a good starting point but could be improved further if the additional balls were fired onto the pitch out of a cannon. To keep the game fair, each team have to elect one of their starting 11 to be the cannon firer, but that player will have to play in a special kit that resembles a medieval soldier.
I think it would be difficult to get cannons into a stadium. Health and safety wouldn't allow it after the Springfield Speedway disaster of 2000.

Smaller keepers and a rule where they can't be outside of their box while the ball is in the opposition half. Stop all this 'sweeper keeper' nonsense. It's killed the beauty of counter-attacks and through balls/balls over the top. Does my head in watching Ederson and the likes just hoof the ball out while half-way up his own half everytime the opposition try to get in behind.

This one's a bit out there, but get rid of draws. You either win or you lose. Too often do we see teams 'playing for a draw', like we saw Arsenal do at Man City at the weekend. They didn't *need* to win that game, so did little to even try. Boring as f**K. Getting rid of draws forces teams to actually try to play football.

Football's getting a bit stale - time to spice it up a bit!
Regarding getting draws America had shoot outs (dribbling from the half way line). I think there better than pens

No, pens are good and exciting. Extra time is tedious and inconvenient for evening games, I'd go straight to pens.

To be fair I quite like pens, although they always make me nervous even when I have no vested interest in either of the teams :ROFLMAO:

Something's got to be done about teams just playing for draws though. That Arsenal City game should've been a belter but was one of the most boring games I've watched, simply because one team knew they didn't need to win. Football should ultimately be entertaining.

It's up to the other team to beat them. Agree that it seemed a dull game but it's part of the sport, it's not just entertainment in the sense of constant incident.

It's not an aspect of the sport I enjoy! :ROFLMAO:

I know it'll never happen but draws just seem to take more enjoyment from the sport than they add in practicality/variation. A lot of people say Man City are boring (I've been guilty of saying it too) to watch, but from what I see now that's less to do with them and more to do with how 99% of oppositions play against them. Most teams don't bother trying to win the game, and just sit back for the draw. That leaves City with little option but to just pass it around for most of the game.

It is what it is but it's just...meh :ROFLMAO:

I understand why some of the less 'well-funded' teams in the Prem play like that against Man City, especially if they are trying to eke out a point to help in a relegation scrap. But Arsenal are supposed to be competing for the title and a win would have been invaluable. I dislike this current version of Arsenal - they were pillocks when we played them, and are the very epitome of the functional over the enjoyable. People say they don't like Klopp or Guardiola - I'd take either of them over Arteta every time.

Yes I used to like Arsenal but after playing them Ive come to dislike them. Of the big teams I like Man City and Liverpool and dislike Man U and Arsenal. Dislike Chelsea but they’re not really a big team at the moment, haha. TBH I can’t actually remember where Spurs are.

The odd thing is that I am not sure I actually 'like' any Prem team. I do however *dislike* a few of them for various reasons, so watching any Prem football is often a case of who I want to lose, rather than who I want to win!

Yes I’ll certainly root for Bournemouth orFulham against any of the big boys

I don’t ‘like’ any prem team, even though as a kid I was a fan of Spurs due to my dad but for years now I have no interest in them.
I do however like how some prem teams play and enjoy watching their games, one of them being Liverpool as it’s so end to end and always fast, attacking football. I am sure though that will change once Klopp goes.
I find city very boring to watch and Arsenal are just a team that whinge constantly, including their manager.
I’d much rather watch the conference games on tv over the premier league games.

If you prefer Conference games on TV then Scottish Championship games live on BBC Scotland on Friday nights can be entertaining. The Refs seem happy to allow physical play with the occasional leveller challenge like it is still the early 2000s. The quality is generally poor but with the occasional flash of brilliance so it can be quite entertaining.
