Ex-Staff Karl Robinson

Jones can be recalled as he’s not on loan to a club in the EFL.
Can he play though? He's surely not registered with us and I thought there was a window to do this as he isn't a free agent. Either way I hope we get to see him next season.

It's a shame it finished like this as the last few months has tarnished KR's legacy because we did have a couple of decent seasons and played attractive football albeit without any success or tangible progress, but his managerial tenure is now only going to be remembered for the last 12 terrible months. If the board/owners had recognised the issue much much earlier and removed him in September/October he probably would have had some degree of respect for what had happened previously. The way it has ended means no one is going to forget the horrific last 12 months with mistake after mistake after mistake with gobbledegook brainless comments going with it. A lot more hopeful now that we have a chance of staying up, but we need the caretaker management team, which is the same minus 1, to change it all very quickly to something that is remotely sensible to win a game of football. There must be some fear that they will just continue doing the same because they know no different. We possibly only need 10 points. Surely the players can muster that now that the problem has gone.

Brilliant!!, get him back now, and give him the game time that he's craved for. He has to be better than Bodin, Murphy and dare I say it.. Browne.

I would happily see Chris wilder until the end of the season yes he wants a championship team so an opportunity for him and solve a short term issue for us to review in summer and reset.
Can’t see it why take the risk if he or anyone in a similar situation takes over and we did go down their reputation takes another huge hit. Someone is his situation needs to be very careful with pick their next club I feel he’s one bad choice away from joining the standard managerial merry go round.

It's not a perfect solution, but the guy has managed before.

My real concern is that we jump right into the arms of some available journeyman with good patter and end up with another dumb, out-of date bastard. We need to fix the organisation now.

BTW: It went without saying the the current coaches must be replaced
😂

Not wishing to revel in any person's demise, but surely the right decision. There really was no point continuing with this charade in the hope that compensation could be avoided or through any sense of 'loyalty'.

Unlikely to be a 'new manager bounce' for some time yet, and given the lack of confidence around the club at the moment we are still in a perilous situation.

I genuinely liked Karl and how he cared about our club, and how he engaged with fans (mostly!), but the fact is his poor squad building and massive recruitment errors have got us in to this position where we are now, and it was all his fault, yet he never owned up to it or admitted it.

Too many crocks on high wages, an unbelievably unbalanced squad and glaring errors in key positions are major reasons why we are struggling now.

We have to hope there are four worse teams than us in the league (well 3 as FGR seem to be out of it now). I will keep believing but will be watching through my fingers every Saturday afternoon!🙈

He had to go - that much was clear. But he also gave us two or three years of glorious, highly watchable football, and some excellent cup performances against bigger sides (not sure I can remember us outclassing a PL side as much as we outclassed West Ham, for example). So I wish him well, but his time was up.

Couldn't bring myself to post yesterday, just didn't have anything left. This news is just the tonic. He's gone.
The damage to the playing staff and playing admin is inestimable and will take time to recover. It may be that we still face an uphill battle to avoid relegation but, potentially, we have players who are willing to try. They need league 1 just as much as we all do.

As sad as it is to see someone lose their job this had to done I just hope it’s not to late. I have been dancing around my kitchen with my son and daughter in celebration.

If he would drop down to league 1 Chris Wilder for me a no nonsense guy who will give this lot a kick up the a**e and keep us up my second choice would be Leam Richardson.

No. There is no way he can play for us this season. Simply impossible.

I believe you’re right.

How did we manage to cut short Dan Crowley’s season long loan all those seasons back though? That was done outside of the transfer window, wasn’t it?
