Away Match Day Thread +++ 10/03/18 AFC Wimbledon v OUFC +++

Sounds very familiar from Oxford lose out to a physical side and concede the winner from a set piece.
For Christ sake let’s have a new manager by Monday morning at the latest then maybe we will get the boost needed to avoid relegation.
Because this situation has been allowed to drift on and on it’s become desperate

I’m getting slightly annoyed that RO are blaming the defeat entirely on the ref. Yes he was an incompetent idiot but there’s no excuses. If we want to stay up weve got to go to places like this and get a result
If that is what RadOx are saying, they are delusional. We had, what, two chances in the whole game to their four? Two very bad sides and we were marginally the worse, because we wanted it less.
Important that everyone involved with the club starts to look in the mirror and face facts. There has been pathetic, complicit complacency endemic in the club for a long time. It needs to end. No more self-serving, congratulatory press releases about how great everyone is, please....

The performance I watched (admittedly online, not live) was of a team without spirit and zero belief.

Relegation fodder.

Dave T said relegation doesn’t matter.

I mean it only took us six years to get to this level and playing Morecambe and Crawley is fun, right?

What a shambles of a season. A complete mess that could still get much, much worse.

That was s**t. We were terrible, Wimbledon were terrible, and the ref and line were f*****g. Terrible. Only plus is that others didn’t close further. Announcement desperately needed for Monday to give a week to sort them out. (If that’s even possible)

Never a pen, unless a deliberate slip is now a foul. Wes Thomas should have finished his one on one. And how many times can we concede from a set piece into our box

Just wondering if the likes of McClaren are getting cold feet. No-one wants a relegation on their CV. Maybe we’ll have to stick with Faz now

I know im like a broken record. But we are going down. Absolutely certain of it.

Even when we were getting ok results earlier in the season you could see there were huge holes in the team.. ive never believed we invested in the summer, and it shows.

In a very poor league 1 this year, the fact we are doing so poorly is a damning indictment.

We simply MUST now get an experienced gaffer in to steady us. On a decent bonus to stay up. No pissing around with Kluivert.

Were in dire straits people.

I think we have the worst form over the last 6 games in the league. I would say unless something major changes we are a fair bet to be relegated.

Manger appointments needs to be Monday morning and he needs to be a very good manager.

Tiger so far has been a shambles, too much indecision at a bad time (i just pray he has an ace up his sleeve).

Totally p'd off with what DE and Tiger have turned this club into this season.

Ffs?! Faz saying that they dust themselves down on Monday and prepare for next Saturday? Doesn’t sound like he’s expecting to be replaced anytime soon. What the f#ck is going on??

And incidentally, Faz sounds a bit lost for words. Reminds me of Peps post match interviews

No I didn’t, I send it’s not the end of world, which is lucky as if that’s how we’re going to play then that precisely where we’re going. The club will still be there, I will still have a season ticket, I’d rather that was in l1.

Why, Gary? We are safe as houses aren't we? Solid mid-table side, right? No need to bother with a manager.
Of course we are Charlie. It's more for the rest of the season and building a team for next season. A new manager should bring everyone together and provide some leadership and direction that has been missing recently at the management level. The players knowing who their boss will be and having a definite there should help.

Feel sorry for Faz, he probably wants a manager in just as much as us.
I do to a point. But his statement that he was happy with the performance because Wimbledon had to change their system at half time to beat us annoyed me a tad

What major could be made to improve., Cant add any more [layers to some of the s**t we have.

What manager could that be, he's only got what Faz had today to work with.

He's left it to late to make a difference and he's f*****g dithering.

More DE'S f*****g fault.

How close do we have to get to the relegation zone before you reckon we have to start fighting for points rather than 'planning for the future'?

I fear that it would be financially disastrous. Am going to return to this point in more detail elsewhere.
