Do people have a go-to first word that they always use of do you change every day? I always start with a different word, or at least try not repeat words too often but tend to have a safe word to go to second if none of the letters appear first time round.

I generally use a different starting word, avoid double letters to start with, and don’t waste a guess using a letter which you already know is wrong or in the wrong place.

I used the same starting word until it was the answer on Wordle on 4th May. I am currently using different starting words on Wordle (assuming it won't come up again), but still using it on Quordle and Octordle. I also avoid double letters to start and on Wordle try to only guess possible solutions. However on Quordle and Octordle, I often guess two different 5 letter words to start with, so as to cover 10 letters and try to speed it up a bit. I'd like to think I don't waste a guess but I make too many mistakes for that!
