It really depends on how you think, I know I`m a lateral/process thinker.
Words rarely start with consecutive letters each day.
Some letters are rarely used (Z,X,Y)
There has to be a vowel (or two).
So once you get 1 or 2 letters in the green you are closer to the answer than you think.

Your first item on your plan hardly narrows down the options.
Tomorrow I'd be interested to see the word on your second line, as I can't think of any that fit your guess, apart from the answer.

Reminds me of the 1970s Mastermind board game, there are definite similarities.

Looking at your first seven games ...
210 first two letters correct plus two more
211 first one letters correct plus two more
212 first two letters correct plus one more
213 first one letters correct
214 first one letters correct, plus 3 4 and 5
215 second letter correct
216 all five letters correct

Does this look likely that on a 1/26 chance of getting the first letter right (or even 1/25 taking out a repeated letter), that you will get that five times in a row? (even allowing for less common letters)

I suspect that somebody found a way when they first started playing of either resetting to get a starting letter or perhaps using a VPN to play a separate game, and then using the correct starting letter on their "real" game.

If I asked someone to guess the first letter of a random five letter commonly known word, five times in row, how likely is it that they get them all right (even if I have a different starting letter each time?)
