Exciting and impressive signing.

We’ve been crying out for a strong defensive midfielder since Gorrin was first injured over 2 years ago, so well done Des for not only quickly identifying an area of weakness but actually doing something about it.

That’s 2 strong physical players in Goodwin and Matete, plus the timely return of Leigh, just the sort of players you need to help get out of this division.

Pros:

The defensive midfielder that a large number of us on here have been crying out for
Joined Sunderland on loan in January 2022 and Plymouth on loan in January 2023, and played a role in getting them both promoted from this level.

Cons:

Doesn't seem to have played a game yet this season so may need a bit of time to find his match fitness
Gets booked at a rate that would make Alex Gorrin blush (though some people might view this as a pro, as it just shows he's getting stuck in!)

Excited to see him in action. Looks another excellent piece of business.

Brilliant signing and hopefully we can get him up to speed quick fast. Not really in the Gorrin mould but will get everywhere and is excellent at winning the ball back. Was right at the top of the league in terms of tackles, duels and recoveries while helping Plymouth to the title last year. We've been more open under Des, hopefully this will both shore us up and also give confidence to Brannagan and McGuane to go further forwards knowing they've got some cover.

Top work Ed and Des, and anyone else involved.

Not played this season due to having knee surgery after getting injured on a pre season tour to the USA.
Got back into the squad on New year's day.
Has come here to play and get minutes on the pitch.🙄
Hope he does well.

Any idea how many times he has been sent off?
Gorrin was hooked regularly and then generally held back for the rest of the game
