3 Point Pledge

I was speaking to someone who lives in Buckingham and she said East West really open this area up to traveling to the stadium by public transport. It's just 5 miles to the new Winslow station.

MK Dons are very active in Buckingham so a bit of competition. One of there Academy teams played there last week, there was a pre-season friendly there and MK often offer family day tickets by MK18 post code which are heavily discounted.
I live roughly between Buckingham & Winslow so I’m definitely all aboard the new line!

Currently at Grenoble Road you see several hundred people parked in their cars up to a couple of hours before the match even starts , just sat listening to the radio waiting for kick off. Mainly I suspect to avoid traffic congestion getting to the ground and hoping for a quick get away, plus the lack of decent food, drink and prematch socialising options, and of course the poor public transport available. Currently it’s a pretty soulless experience as well as being very environmentally unfriendly.

All that changes with the Triangle.

Thousands more supporters will use public transport to get the new stadium whether that be buses or trains as well as cycling, and will willingly do so.

Not only will that be great news for the environment it will also helps encourage and educate people to use public transport more in the future as they begin to see how easy and convenient it potentially can be.

An economic boost to Kidlington and Oxford city centre will naturally follow too.

It’s a win, win situation.

I see quoted somewhere else that the station could be in operation by 2028.

This and the Cowley line reopened would really help get more people out of cars.

Someone already mentioned the new Eynsham park and ride which hopefully when opened a bus could run from there to the stadium.

I know there is also a park and ride at lodgehill in the pipe line but waiting for the south facing slip roads on to the a34 first.

Lots of options .

Thankfully the Lodge Hill upgrade has been approved, they just need to close the funding gap (talking to Homes England I think with regards this).

Done.

For those that'll travel via Oxford (Central), a new, larger Oxford Station with increased capacity will be open and will make it easier for more fans to pass through by 2026.

Supporters travelling from London to the new stadium will now have the option of a train journey straight to Oxford Parkway, or into the city centre for pre match refreshments before a short 5 mins ride to the triangle.

Much more environmentally friendly than hundreds of private car journeys.

At the same time freeing up land at the existing Kassam stadium for much needed housing.

Wha’s not to like? With a world class sporting value thrown in for good measure. This is indeed a wonderful opportunity for Kidlington and the county as a whole.

My wife has just completed the OxVox pledge too.

Don’t forget to encourage those you know who go to games to sign the pledge too.

Done.

I currently drive to 50% of home games, particularly mid week games when I don’t want to risk missing the last train.

Quite simply I will not need to use the car at all if we play at the triangle. I can walk to my home train station and will never need to use my car again to get to an OUFC home game.

This was an easy pledge to make as I don't drive, so am always on the train anyway (apart from this Saturday when I'll be on National Express due to the strikes).

As an exile, I very rarely go to home games, mainly due to the length of time it takes to get there given the location of the stadium. The triangle plus East West Rail will mean I will get to far more games.
