Looks to me like an Elliott Lee style replacement
Why shouldn't in house count? We still pay them a wage and they still are part of the squad. And both had injury problems before signing pro terms.
Because signing a youngster to their first pro contract is typically really, really cheap. And early in their careers their potential value is at its highest.
So you are always going to do it if the player has talent, because the financial risk is low and the reward is potential great (about 3 mil, as it turned out, in Shandon's case.....although Brentford may have some buyer's remorse when it comes to purchasing players with a long injury history. Not that they're going to miss the money now!)
Well, didn’t expect him to be much cop in all honesty but he looks a bit of a maverick, Maguire & Ricky Holmes ilk. Think he’ll play a good part if we can get him fit. Clearly not got blistering pace but his footwork & speed of thought was excellent and should have had a goal if Whyte had a left foot. Impressive

Billy BeechersWho else has the initials BB? Can think of Bilbo Baggins and Benjamin Button.
He's been brilliant since he came in. Has (I guess) shown the upside of signing loads of attacking players, meaning that there's always a potential match-winner to come in when you have injuries. He's filled the place of Henry very well, with goals, assists, and creative play.Ian Holloway admits he wanted to sign 'beautiful player' Billy Bodin for QPR
