Bloody hell, 32 years ago now... What a day that was, decent weather, packed away terrace. Got up there early for a few drinks, then a nervy game. Joey playing well, John Aldridge looking menacing for them. At one point Paul Kee shanked a goalkick along the ground which rolled past Aldridge who was thankfully looking in the wrong direction. Then the wait after the final whistle for the confirmation we were up.

We stopped at one of the service stations on the way back down the M1 and had a few drinks provided by some Chelsea fans who were on their way home after winning at Goodison, they spotted our scarfs and came over to help us celebrate - top bunch of lads.

Good old Eric Nixon. Always gave us a laugh.

I remember Steve Cherry (Notts County?) revealing half of his backside to the London road!

I remember him getting plenty of "You fat b*****d" to which he'd rub his belly and joke along. Always got applause at the end of the half at the London Road end to which he returned iirc.
