New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

Planning committees can behave pretty outrageously and play the 'elected representatives of the people telling it like it is' card but if they ignore professional planning officer's guidance, or stray too far from the local plan they can't get away with it these days (most of the time) because...

Home Match Day Thread 19/04/2024: L1 - OUFC v Stevenage

Frustrating. To play ok but drop two crucial points against a team who had zero shots on target is an outlier. Having said that last night's game was a great example of where we're at as a team. Classic 433 attacking formation with two out and out wingers but without the personnel or depth to...

    General Ivy Pass

If it is just for one game then the only possible reason I can see is that Ivy Pass are using it (and therefore us) as a brand/reputation wheeze when flogging their 'services' to others. Won't keep ranting on this but these kinds of things say a lot about the ethos and culture of a club.

It's a bit more complicated than that Paul. I'll write more when have headspace at weekend

Have done some more digging on this. Its not an NFT/crypto thing in the way we've seen before. So I take back the term 'crypto-scammers' in the post above. It actually appears to be a new kind of data harvesting and tracking tech. This is my professional area so will have a stab at a plain...

In and of itself no big deal but it's our club getting into bed with crypto-scammers. Think it's entirely reasonable for fans to make it clear this isn't what we're about thank you very much Mr Benson.

Yep, he messed that one up completely. To make it worse pretty sure he actually gave a subtle 'advantage' gesture at the first foul outside the box, let play continue so Harris could wriggle away then pulled it back when he was finally pulled down in the area. He struggled badly all night. He...

Home Match Day Thread 13/04/2024: L1: OUFC v Peterborough

Absolutely. McEachran masterclass yesterday. Picking up the ball, finding space and *quickly* distributing to Rodrigues or Goodrham rather than spraying straight to the wingers elevated everything. The midfield suddenly operated as a unit in transition and made life hell for posh...

    End of iFollow

I do wonder whether there'll be enough of an international market for many lower league clubs to continue with this. With sky now in the picture would expect more sophisticated policing of VPN access and without that grey market surely can't be enough international viewers to make this pay for...

Home Match Build Up 13/04/2024: L1: OUFC v Peterborough

Didn't see their game last night but have seen a lot of posh this year and above is a good summary. Every time I've seen them wobble is when the opposition attack and force them to ask themselves questions. They can go from seemingly irresistible to shaky if put under pressure. That...

New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

Excellent work from @SwissYellow here bringing things to light publicly. It's already led to a bit of reasonable conversation with one green candidate and a less impressive response from Layla Moran. Sometimes social media can feel pointless but this kind of thing does make a difference before...

    Manager/Coach Des Buckingham

Exactly this up to now but hopefully solvable.. This has been Des's dilemma from day one. At the start it was all about continuity of Manning's quite narrow, high pressing 4231 but with tons of injuries. It never clicked. So he waited for his wide players to get fit, tinkered with a futile...

Away Match Day Thread 16/03/24 - L1: Port Vale v OUFC

That looks a much better lineup to play 433 rather than the weird hybrid we've seen over last few weeks. A *lot* of responsibility on Cam here to reign in the emotions and do his job. Also on Bodin to lead by example as a senior pro. A good result is essential today but a good performance...

    Manager/Coach Des Buckingham

Comparison with Clotet hurts but also rings true. He had a reputation as an exceptional technical coach before joining us too. I disagree that we look under-coached - as with Clotet I think if anything we look over-coached and micro managed. Always trying to implement a theoretical gameplan...

    Manager/Coach Des Buckingham

Can't speak for anyone else but the reasons I have been particularly focused on McGuane... When we're out of possession his main job is to stay tight on opposing players in and around the D. To limit options for the opposition, break up play and allow the defence to focus on their jobs and...
