I can go back further. 14,000 at Ibrox in 1969, Fairs Cup Semi final, although I've got to say, that was a very scary night, the total crowd was 75,500!! mostly on terraces, all drunk and all with bottles to throw.

Toon fan in peace. A recent survey found that there are 108 pubs within 1/2 mile of St James' Park, that goes up to 190+ within a mile. I dont think you'll have any bother getting a pint or two before the game. For pubs that are child friendly, most are, but take into account that it's a match...
