So, after years of arguing about left-backs on here, what is a left-back, what isn't one, the wait seems like it was so well and truly worth it.

I love his physicality, burst of pace, and he seems like a great influence on the dressing room too. Long may the good times roll, Greg!

Can we look at whether the Forum is able to father his children sponsor his shirt this season?
I enquired about the prices. What was a £500-600 amount is an eye watering, £1000+ VAT!

Have you noticed that there are a lot of players with no sponsors, inc McGuane!

Nah, I still believe a left back is either a winger with a left foot or a centre back with a left foot. No way is it a specialised position that you need to sign someone for.

Early days but we could be onto having a cult hero with Leigh.

He’s the kind of player people watch football for - energy, effort, bravado and a massive amount of charisma. He makes you smile whether it’s the way he plays or conducts himself in interviews and on the official club channel socials.

You do need the more prosaic players around him for sure but it’ll be the young kids wanting ‘Leigh’ on the back of their shirts.

I was involved in a fair bit of chat when he signed about a 3 at the back formation with him and Stevens wide in a midfield 4 still allowing us to either play 2 wingers ahead of them, 2 number 10's who drift wide or a mixture of both outside/behind a striker. I haven't watched the weekends game yet but were we lined up in some variety of a 343 formation? It would certainly be a very useful alternative to have for some games and the players we have now suit it well.

In other news, OUFC has announced increased security at the training ground due to “a perceived threat to the wellbeing of one of our first team”.
A fully grown man wearing full Oxford United kit including a #22 shirt with 'Gorgeous Greg' on the back was seen near the training ground burning an effigy of George Baldock. He could be heard singing 'You're not gorgeous anymore" as he was escorted away by security.

It was a 3421 with a ‘box’ centre of midfield (McGuane and Brannagan behind Rodrigues and Goodrham). Manning said in his post-match with RadOx that Edwards would’ve played “top of the box” instead of Goodrham had be been fit.
