This will be a good test. Barnsley are 4th in the table But have lost more games than the other top teams. They do not score many but it looks like they have a good defence. We will have to be at our best.

I will be surprised if this game isn't postponed but haven't we got heat lamps and covers on the pitch to avoid p-p

It'll be baltic at the breeze block this saturday- with not many flatcap sporting pigeon fancying tykes making the trip south. Larger than usual take up for ifollow watchers from both sets of supporters. Low actual, physical numbers, with around 7k given as the official attendance.

A hard fought 1-0 home win I fancy

Secretly, everyone probably wants this game postponed by 9:30am I bet and that includes the refs!

Maybe I've lived in the Northeast US too long - but are people seriously complaining because it's going to be only a few degrees above freezing, very little wind and sunny?

You should see some of the weather conditions we watch sporting events in here; being such snowflakes about the weather!!

That being said, if they do call the game off because the pitch is frozen, I won't complain.....because I'll just watch Portugal vs. Morocco instead!

Not enough of them to huddle together to keep warm enough to keep the death rate below the acceptable threshold I am afraid, you are allowed upto 10% of your crowd (published figure not actual attendance) to freeze to death during the 90 minutes but no more than that, looks bad on the FA otherwise.

They need to buy a few lighters for those on the outside to have a heat source so should be good then.

I'm going to jig about a bit at half time, hopefully that should save me.

any substance to the rumour Bear Grylls is the special guest speaker pre match in the quadrangle tomorrow- sharing serving extreme conditions tips ?

I think, given the extra extreme cold tomorrow, my Dad will probably not go to the game ( instead, stay warm, 'watch' the U's on rad ox, and not still be thawing out when the England game kicks off - he is 87 with mobility problems)

though me, my Sister n Nephew will be there, shivering at the Breeze Block
