Ex Player Alex Rodriguez Gorrin

Hope he can hit the ground running (well not too hard)

Has Karl got some kind of fascination with injury prone players?

I sometimes wonder if we’re some kind of rehabilitation centre.

Welcome Jordan. Can he play CB if needed or is he just a LB ? .

He's definitely not a CB. I believe he started his career in midfield, so can play there as well.

For me, it was crucial to bring in a defender - any defender - given our lack of numbers and form there this season. CB would have been marginally preferred, but Sam Long has been filling in well there, so some left back competition for Ruffels (who has not been good so far this season) is the next best thing. Look forward to seeing Jordan in action

Have been saying our defensive problems come from Ruffels
He is here to play left back
Could be a good signing

Looks a promising prospect, if he's managed to get over his injury 100%. A really good age too, still quite young.

Not criticising looks a good signing but didn't we need a centre back more?

I think that would have been the preference overall but a defensive body of any sort is welcomed as a secondary option.

We were so lucky last year that Ruffels went the season pretty much without missing any of our most important matches. It rather covered up that we managed to get away with having any LB cover bar Sam Long for all of 2019-20. Also, whilst I think it’s only temporary, Ruffels normally solid 6 or 7 out of 10 performances have dipped to a 5 lately. It may well be because he is coming back from injury and needs more careful management on the number of games he plays so having Obita as an option certainly helps.

I think we are also screaming out for a leader in the back 5, I don't get the sense that any of those that have played regularly this season are the organising vocal types, hopefully Obita has this side to his game, as that would make a huge difference.

Well we could have that leader if Mous played but I realise that he may not be ready yet in a back four. But, he probably could be effective on the right side of a back three with wing backs on either side. I'm fairly sure that won't happen though.

In KR's Walsall preview, he describes Obita as 'wide left who can cover at left back - he gives us extra cover so Ruffs can go inside if he needs to' (or words to that effect - it's a bit garbled).

That says to me that his primary position is in left midfield, but another/continuing injury to Atkinson would mean Ruffels moving to the middle of defence and Obita playing on the left.

If that's right we certainly have an embarrassment of riches of the left of midfield (Shodipo, Obita, Cooper, Agyei)!

My Reading supporting pal reckons he has lost a bit of pace since his injury. We'll have to wait and see. So maybe not so much the winger just 'left sided'
Anyway I think Shodipo has earned the right to start on the left of a front three in the league for a while.

Yeah I picked up on that - Robinson in his interview seemed to be hinting that he was primarily a left midfielder, offering cover at left back.

What is it with Robinson and his desire to hoard left wingers?!

With such a plethora of riches on one side of the pitch will we not be a bit one-sided and predictable?

A friend wants to know.......

I think the point is, we saw it last season, that the style that Robinson likes to play involves lots of pressing etc so high octane which meant at times, particularly the wide players seemed to be rested and changed a lot. Wingers seem to interchange quite a lot and it may be we don't have a regular starter. I actually like what I've seen of Ageyi coming of the right and cutting in.
