So we may get back to full pelt football just as the virus begins to peak. Not sure about that. My six pennorth is that we carry on tomorrow at least , subject always to best scientific and medical advice available. If the games continue then naturally many supporters will decide not to attend anyway. Where are the fans going to be spending their spare Saturdays? Inside the pub, the overheated shopping centre, the cinema etc?

Or taking onboard what is happening and keeping to themselves.

A tough call, as the risk of spreading infection in a stadium is less than in a pub and other social venues.

Postponing fixtures for the next three weeks has a lot of merit.
waiting to hear the announcement from EFL... I was about to go to ticket office to get mine n my middle granddaughters' tickets for tomorrows game, when news of these mornings EFL 'emergency' meeting broke

Best guess is that this weekend goes ahead and all change from Monday. What that change is I haven't a clue.

Probably being too simplistic but, as the Government has decided stadiums need not close, matches should go ahead unless teams have too many players in quarantine to make it viable. I'll leave it for others to decide what counts as too many.

You'd imagine that if one member of a squad thinks they may have contracted the virus, then all of them are likely to be self-isolating for a fortnight anyway?

Breaking news ...ALL EFL matches suspended till April 4th , when the situation will be reviewed

We all love football, and all sport, and it's a major part of the lives of a huge percentage of the worldwide population, but in situations like this, ALL SPORT becomes insignificant in comparison to our desire to protect the health of ourselves and our loved ones, and if all sport needs to be cancelled in order to reduce the amount of people coming together in large crowds, then so be it, and if pubs, clubs, cinemas, gyms etc need to be closed as well, then so be it.

Personally, I'd close all airports, sea ports, and borders worldwide, so all countries can focus on the cases they currently have, without the constant worldwide travel of millions of people continually spreading it around and around all over the place.

Sounds extreme, but this virus is spreading all over the planet, fast, so surely it's better to take extreme measures now, before it becomes unmanageable, rather than in a months time, look back and think we should have done more when we had the chance?!?
