Seven (6 from Oxon,Jeffrey a Scot )home grown players in our 12 ....not including Ollie Kearns a Banbury boy who came on a free from Reading .
Also would think the line up was Seacole/Brock on the wings , Jeffrey/Thomas midfield with Foley / Cassells up top ?

Remember that game well, it was a massive game for us as we had been having a bit of a wobble at the time, don't think it came too far after losing 3-0 at home to Birmingham. This seemed to get us going again.

Yep, I can remember that game as well, seemed to confirm we deserve to go up as Champions.
Even though it was 39 years ago I could name the line up, whereas one year ago Morecambe away (see above) I would probably only guess half the players.

Yes, when Billy Hamilton got injured in the warm up before the Blackburn cup game it knocked us for six!! We were struggling to even get one. I think Brocky was the only player to score in five consecutive games and John Aldridge went eight games without scoring because he was missing his strike partner. It took a while for Jeremy Charles to fit in. We did thrash Wimbledon 4-0 at the Manor between the Birmingham game and Man City game and that seemed to get us back on track. We only lost two more games after that, Barnsley and Leeds away.
Big Billy was such an influential player and that was the start of his knee problems.
