New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

Another LibDem volunteer told me that we should ease off them because they actually do support the stadium but... Gant & Levy will ultimately support but need to show "influential" anti-Stadium voters in their areas that they're anti. Layla Moran is a bit confused and non-plussed, she's convinced herself the football fans are having a go at her for other reasons. She also doesn't care too much because it's not her constituency anymore. She's also met and been photographed with McIvor.

The person alluded to meetings being held in secret, without notes as "that woman" is a nightmare with FOI requests, Im sure they meant our Suzanne. They want to keep her sweet but not because they agree but because she's problematic and time consuming.

It's interesting and could have truth but while we're so close to the local elections, having a promise of "don't worry lads" is concerning if they're also telling the other side not to worry! What is the truth!

Another bridge saga at a football stadium. Difference is seems that the local council actually wants to help their football club.

Yet we try and secure our future without asking for a single penny of taxpayers money and we are made to jump through hoop after hoop. It's disgusting.

When ever has Oxford councils ever been helpful towards the football club. At every point in our history the councils want to put obstacles in our way to stop progress just how many sites have we put forward in the last 50 years only for it knocked back

Ease off?! Get in the sea.

Also I'm sure I've heard that a FOI request in OCC circles is known as a "McIvor"!

Do not vote Lib Dem or Green.

They only care about the club when they can get a photo op.

That may, or may not be true, and as you say they’ll be telling the university academics of the North Oxford Set something completely different.

Quite frankly I would take Lib Dem volunteer reassurances with a pinch of salt. Actions speak louder than words.

We need to keep the pressure on the Lib Dems and the Greens.

We'll ease off once they taken the required action and signed the Heads of Terms, approved the planning application and then signed the lease.

Until we see such action or have cast iron promises we shall use our numbers and campaign tirelessly against the LibDem's and Greens. It's up to them.

Exactly, they'll talk to an anti and say "look at what Gant and Levy have said, we are with you"

Liberal Democrats are two faced liars

If the party line is favourable towards the stadium then they need to say so. Allowing two councillors to object on the planning portal under their own names as LibDem councillors is scandalous. They have the right and proper route to follow which is to present OUFC with the council's perspective and the conditions upon which the council will give it's blessing to a lease of the land.
Instead, they have chosen to make official their opposition to the stadium. However they may dress it, what they have done is contrary to their positions within the council and the cabinet. Hypocrisy and duplicitous behaviour. They have presented arguments against the planning permission as county councillors. They have not presented OCC policy. It is an abuse of position, plain and simple.
Levy is treading a very thin line. On one hand he states, in council, that he cannot break confidence and talk about the discussions held with OUFC. On the other, he states unequivocally to CDC planning consultation why he is opposed. Are we to believe that his grounds for opposing are not the subject of discussion with OUFC?

The whole thing stinks.

I won't ease off until I'm sat in the bloody thing

Especially when they are directly involved.
Scandalous!

I was thinking the other day, how often will the opposition complain about noise and traffic when it's open? Or will McIvor move onto another way to ruin people's futures?
Suzanne McIvor run Community Action Group "Friends of Cutteslowe Park" who were anti the distressingly large volley ball court in 2015, didn't seem to fussed about them once they opened...
