The statement does say that the search for a new person has already begun. It really does need to happen quickly, with the new manager bringing in his own back room staff.

The club has had months to line up both an interim and longer-term appointment. They need to get this sorted rapidly.

Amongst the celebrations though it doesn't on the face of it look a stellar set of replacements and the squad is so badly put together we'll be hampered for at least another year.

It's still a chance to rally round the new lads and unite the fans for the run in to make sure we stay up, it's not done yet. This has made my weekend.

It's not a perfect solution, but the guy has managed before.

My real concern is that we jump right into the arms of some available journeyman with good patter and end up with another dumb, out-of date bastard. We need to fix the organisation now.

BTW: It went without saying the the current coaches must be replaced

Thank goodness for that. It's going to be tough getting to 50+ points, but this at least gives us a chance.

Sure he'll get another job somewhere and do a decent enough job, but the wrong man at the wrong time for us here.

If we'd nailed either of those play-off chances all may be different, but his short-comings mounted to an untenable level.

Next decision is absolutely crucial for the club. Probably biggest of the last ten years what with the stadium on the horizon and money currently on the wage bill. Have to get this right now and make sure we're a League One side heading in the right direction next season.
