I wouldn’t be throwing him on the scrap heap yet but I thought he was poor in the play offs. Needs another experienced keeper to challenge him next season.
Heard we are looking at Owen Evans from Wigan. Young keeper who played on loan. At Cheltenham. 23 years old and a former wales u21/19 international. Modern day keeper who is good with the bar and a good reader of the game.
With Wigan’s finances etc, should be a cheap deal to get over the line.
I find the modern day obsession with Goalkeepers having to be "good with the ball" infuriating, when there's 10 outfield players to take care of that.
Look at how many keepers make mistakes nowadays that cost goals, because they've neglected the basics, or they're trying to mess about with the ball in and around their area, and it encourages too much buggering about with the ball in defence, which does my head in, fair enough, play out from the back, but that doesn't need to involve the goalkeeper in a 5 pass move, that doesn't even get the ball out of defence!
I would allow my keepers to practice putting a long ball on a sixpence like Ederson can, as that can be very benificial, but beyond that, a simple pass/throw out to the defenders for them to then get the ball moving themselves is enough.
Don't think he has ever been the best keeper in this league. Was good for a couple of seasons but last few since his injuries he has been average.I'm still think Easty has so much to offer and is still the best keeper in league one. We are lucky to have him and given his previous performances, I don't think he deserves the criticism. Sure, he may have made a few mistakes lately, but I think you notice them more because in general, he is solid.
He probably needs some competition, but I certainly feel more confident when he is playing than not and I didn't see anything in the likes of Archer to get excited about.

Highly thought of, but villa overflowing with keepers, so a good steal by wolves. Would be a great player to have, but if we are going to use up a loan slot for a keeper, then he would have to be starting rather than anumber twoThis is from David Ornstein's Athletic column this morning. Sounds like someone we should be looking at.
That's the problem with the goalkeeping position though. It's not rotated or subbed anywhere near as much as the other positions on the field - so having two front line keepers (Easty plus a good keeper on loan) is unlikely. Neither of them wants to sit on the bench. A prem club certainly wouldn't want to loan someone to us on that basis, and I doubt Easty would want to sit there watching him!A premier league GK on loan would be good as competition to Eastwood.
I remember watching Aaron Ramsdale for AFC Wimbledon a year or so ago and he looked amazing for a 20 year old.
Now Bournemouths no 1. (i know they got relegated but not all his fault!)
So there must be others in need of quality game time who are close to premier league standard.
OK. I may have missed an entire thread here, but he’s signed on a permanent:
