EFL 5 subs for 20/21 season

Potentially allows us to have a couple of youth players on the bench in the league which will hopefully support their development.

Why on earth are they doing that though? I thought the rationale for the five subs was that players were playing a lot of games in a short time without any pre-season training. The article says that next season may be condensed if they start a bit late, but surely not to the extent it needs that change? As Sarge says it potentially means larger squads to take the most advantage of being able to change half of your outfield players! And surely it would potentially mean *more* experienced/senior players on the bench if the subs are potentially going to be that important?
You'll be telling me they're introducing cocoa breaks half way through each period in case the players are a bit chilly next!

Perhaps the subs can learn the crowd chants and try to get some atmosphere going... there will be enough of them to give it a good go.

Not in favour of that more stopping and starting interrupting the flow of games along with var hope they dont keep the drinks breaks on 20mins either so sky cant fit ad breaks in will be turning into nfl
