REF WATCH

Wigan official Martin Woods - in his first season at EFL level - is in charge of today’s huge match at Vale Park.
Woods was the man in the middle when the U’s drew 1-1 at Shrewsbury last November and also for Vale’s 2-2 home draw with Forest Green
back in October. This season he has refereed 24 matches issuing 87 yellow cards and 4 reds.

IMAGE FROM THE PAST

Vale Park, Burslem, May 2012.

The final match of United’s 2011-2012 campaign sees the U’s play-off hopes finally end in a 3-0 defeat to the Valiants.
Argentinian ‘keeper Damian ‘Emi’ Martinez was drafted in on loan from Arsenal the day before.

1-5 today I think we will be 3 up by half time the message should be play like we did second half on Friday

PLAYED FOR BOTH

Includes Matty Taylor, Martin Foyle, Jack Stevens, Sean Rigg, Arjan van Heusden, Olamide Shodipo, Chris Allen. Darren Purse, John Durnin,
Lewis Haldane, Ben Purkiss, Joel Cooper and many others.

Their “reserve” goalie, with a point to prove, will have a worldie.
1-0 to Vale.
Never liked Burslem.

1-0 to us with a goal of Findlay a**e from a corner that he knows nothing about as he is falling over, basically just get a win anyhow, anyway today, definitely result over performance time.

We need to break the winless run and this is a massive opportunity for that. Vale have two wins in 16 and could well be hauled into the bunfight at the bottom of the division if we beat them today.

FGR and Morecambe look finished now so there’s two relegation places to avoid.

Make the most of this opportunity, lads.

Todays important matches:

Bolton v Cambridge
Derby v MK Dons
Portmouth v Morecambe
Port Vale v OUFC
Sheffield W v Accrington
Wycombe v FGR

All teams in danger are away today, 5 of the 6 are playing top teams fighting for promotion/play-off. Hopefully all of those 5 will lose.
So a win for us is so so important!

COME ON YOU YELLOWS

A late decision to make the trip however judging on Friday’s results around us we need to start turning our draws into wins.. Our best performance of the season coming up with an emphatic away win in the rain..........

Port Vale - 1
Oxford Utd - 4
Att - 8,463 (1076 Yellows) singing “We are staying, I said we are staying up” at the final whistle as FGR, Morecambe, Cambridge, Accrington, MK Dons and Burton all lose their away games......!
Can you believe all 7 of the bottom of the table teams are away from home today.......!

I didn’t realise how Port Vale could be dragged into trouble if we beat them. Win today, and our game in hand, means we’re level on points with them (with a much better GD)

Let’s do this!

It's got to be 3 points no less, can't keep drawing & losing. If there's a match to win, it's today.. COME ON THE MANOR 🤘🤘
