National News Liz Truss - Ousted Former PM... 2.

Mr Rees Mogg wants Boris back in number 10.

I’d be a bit disappointed if it happened, but not surprised. Graham Brady wants him back in too.

Well he did say at the end of his goodbye speach “ Hasta La Vista “

Meanwhile the Conservative party has completely lost sight of the fact that normal people’s lives are being absolutely pummelled day in, day out while they spin around in a circle. The country is in a genuine crisis, is a global laughing stock, and the markets are crushing us relentlessly, which pushes up inflation and living costs while directly affecting how global companies view our stability, which then feeds into things like investment and with it employment. National debt repayments are directly affected by all this uncertainty and chaos. The gilt and bond market had another mare earlier on today at the thought of Johnson returning.

They’re torching the country for ordinary people without a care in the world, and they need to stop. It’s not some sort of funny little game that isn’t real - this is real life for tens of millions of people who cannot afford this. They’ve lost all contact with reality.

What does she need staff for the rest of her life for? Can’t she answer her own e mails? Everyone else does alright without a private secretary.
for all the "public service" she will do....after all the cuts maybe her "office" will replace some of the services lost.

Isn’t she the one who told us we couldn’t prevent Turkey joining the EU even when she knew we could.

It was said at about the same time as Turkeys accession rights (to join the EU) stalled in 2016, and have stalled again in 2019.
Nobody knows if we would have used our veto or not.
Turkey have been on the path to join the EU since 1987.........

I don’t disagree with you Ryan. I said it yesterday we are fast becoming a laughing stock.

Even if Turkey got itself into the political and financial shape for the EU to even consider membership, it would always be vetoed by Greece, Cyprus and others, over Turkey’s illegal occupation of northern Cyprus.

The argument of Turkey’s membership put forward by VoteLeave was aimed at people who wouldn’t understand that.

Yep, you keep pushing your bullshit, some still believe it.

Is it not a fact that Turkey became an Associate member of the EEC (remember that?) in 1963?
Is it not a fact that Turkey started its EU accession in 1987?
Is not a fact that Turkey signed a customs agreement in 1995?
Is it not a fact that Turkey was officially recognised as candidate for full EU membership in 1995?
Is it not a fact that negotiations for Turkeys full EU membership started in 2005?

Now, in its current state of strong authority and rigorous enforcement of same, it is unlikely to be welcomed with open arms, only 1 of 16 chapters in the application are closed and negotiations officially stalled in 2019. It is also likely that, currently, Greece, Cyprus and others would veto.

However, these people play the long game so they are still in the Club queue when the door inevitably opens.

And why is that? Its simple ......... more people and more money.

PS: Turkey is a lovely country, lovely people and a wonderful collision of East & West. They also have firm leadership and respect for authority. :)
