Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere on this forum, but when Sam Long scored for us and then put the ball into his own net later on during the Derby game, was this the first time this feat has occurred in any competitive Oxford United match? (this question also applies to players from the opposing team)

It's surprising how often the scorer of an og goes on to get an equaliser.
Although Sam did it the other way round.

Pretty sure Michael Duberry did.
I must admit I feel a bit silly having attended that match and having forgotten all about who had scored both of Hereford's goals! (While I keep records of all matches attended, I don't normally record the goalscorers)

Not Oxford, but Chris Nicholl of Aston Villa once managed to score all four goals in a 2-2 draw

‘Kin ‘ell…. And poor old Ciaron Brown is getting investigated for a stupid text..?

2 own goals and a last minute equaliser. v Hereford, Jan 2012.

Great - watched that and now I'm going to have frickin' Depeche Mode stuck in my head all day.

Do do do do do do do do do Jean-Paul Pittman!
