BREAKING NEWS: Buckingham Vs Manning.

Oxford United have enjoyed yet another fantastic season in the Championship and will be playing their final game of the season at the Kassam Stadium. Their opponents are Bristol City who are managed by Liam Manning who once managed Oxford United. This is a game which has two sides to it,
1, Oxford United need just a draw to be promoted to the Premiership for the first time in their history.
2, It is the last time Oxford United will be calling the Kassam their home as the lease is up and the bulldozers arrive to demolish the Kassam on Monday.

Back in 2024, Oxford United owners applied for planning to build a state of the art stadium at a site known as the Triangle, opposite to Parkway Railway Station and within walking distance of 2 Park & Rides. Unfortunately the planning was refused and despite just over a thousand comments of support via the planning portal, it proved not enough.

Spokespersons for various groups supporting the new stadium, blame apathy as one reason for failing to convince the council at the time. If only people had taken the time to just support this project, we would be looking forward to a fantastic future for the club.

The issue at hand is this, Oxford United have no stadium in which they can call home as the FA/Premiership has refused to agree to a ground share based on the fact that the club have failed to find an alternative site to build a stadium.

Oxford United and their supporters will have their dreams shattered of playing in the Premiership, due to the failure to secure a new stadium.

Now this is a situation that is in OUR HANDS and we have the opportunity to make sure this does not become a reality.

PLEASE SUPPORT THE STADIUM AND REGISTER YOUR SUPPORT WITH CHERWELL DISTRICT COUNCIL BEFORE THE 22nd APRIL

(Just 12 months ago the Triangle was sold to a developer and a new housing estate is being constructed as we speak.
